Rules & Regulations

Article 1- Festival Goals

The first international film festival of peace with the purpose of presenting national and international work with the concentration on peace and tolerance, humanitarian sense, devotion, poverty and hunger trauma, justice and development, preserving nature and climate change, intercultural debates, and displaying the world without violence held in shiraz.
-Propagating the culture of peace and friendship and representing a world without violence
-Creation and spreading equality and brotherhood/sisterhood among people throughout the world
-Increasing understanding and unity among nations and governments
-Displaying the right image of Islam as a peaceful religion
-Underlying basis of innovation and exchanging artists opinions and knowledge
-Discovering youth talents in producing related films
-Providing a healthy comparative situation to encourage filmmakers toward peace in cinema
-Propagating peaceful mind of Iranian as the main and the most valuable exportable cultural products
-Direct and indirect cultural impression through new definition of peace
-Showing artistic works to make world peace
-Awarding artists who have put their effort into building peace and friendship.

The 1st Peace International Film Festival will be held 2nd - 6th December 2017 in Shiraz

Article 2- Eligible Films and Formats
Eligible films for Main Sections:
The Eligible films for all the sections should meet the following conditions:
1- International Films that have been completed after January 1st 2015
2- Iranian Films that have been completed after January 1st 2015
3- The International Premier Films have got the high priority
4- Films that respect the aims of the festival as defined in article
5- The submission form must be completed by the producer or international distributor of the film.

• Short films (fiction, documentary, animation) of at most 30 minutes running time.

• Previewing Format: downloadable links (Vimeo, Dropbox, or ftp)
Before the assigned deadline (21st October 2017).

• Accepted Formats:

• MP4 H264 (1920x1080) 25P
• MPEG2 (1920x1080) 25P
• M2TS (1920x1080) 50i
• M2V (1920x1080) 25P
• Movie (1920x1080) 25P
• Video BitRate: min 20 Mb/s Audio: min 48kHZ 2CH
With English subtitle.
- The screening format above along with promotional material such as poster, stills and trailer for the selected films should be send to the festival office before the assigned deadline (21st October 2017).

Article 3- Programming
• The Festival Director and his consultants officially invite films to participate in the festival.
• Once a film has been selected it cannot be withdrawn from the Festival program
Article 4- Festival Sections
1-Competition Section and Awards:
Main competition including Short fiction, documentary and animation
Films with related contents to culture of peace and tolerance, altruism, devotion, eliminating violence, poverty and hunger trauma, justice and development, preserving nature and climate change, intercultural discussions, and preventing diseases and disabilities will be selected for the three competitive sections below :

2-Special section:
Since children are vulnerable members of any society and a direct key to growth and development in every country, the special award of the festival will be given to the film focused on education, nurture, work, and preventing violence against children.

3-Special Events:
Workshops and Seminars

Article 5- Juries
International Jury:
The festival will designate at least three jury members for the International Competition –
- The Prize list must not contain joint awards.
- No films can receive more than two awards.
Article 6- Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
The Festival Director will settle any case that might arise unexpectedly.
Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of all the aforementioned rules & regulations.
Article 7 – Key Dates
Deadline for Receipt of the Previewing Materials: 21st October 2017
Deadline for Receipt of the Material of invited Films: 2nd November 2017
