PIFF does not curate. Why spend your hard earned money on a slim chance to be accepted if a film festival choses to curate all, or even most, of their program? 100% of PIFF's "OFFICIAL SELECTIONS" go to our submitters and our submitters only. With PIFF, you know that your film has a fair shot of getting in.

Our Films go from PIFF to CANNES! And some even win! Or perhaps your film will be acquired by the SHORTS TV Channel? Who's it going to be in 2024?!

PIFF Attendees include: Martin Sheen, Michael Gross, Doris Roberts, Jason Ritter, Clare Kramer, Mimi Kennedy, John Bowe, Kim Coates, Melissa Fitzgerald, James Marsters, Jay O. Sanders, Lee Meriwether, Sadie Calvano, Tom Lenk, Charisma Carpenter, Dee Wallace, David Hayter, Heather Matarazzo, Alan Rosenberg, Tom Arnold, Mary Beth Hurt, Melora Hardin, Bruce McGill, Jane Kaczmarek, Alley Mills, Danielle Savre, Abigail Breslin, Michael Dorn, Lea Thompson, Jon Huertas, Ed Begley Jr., among others.

Many of our films garner distribution at PIFF. We host a selection of the finest distribution companies at the top of their game who find gems at PIFF and go on to acquire them.

"The Pasadena International Film Festival is an experience not to be missed by filmmakers. From the elegant black tie Great Gatsby Gala Opening night, to the diverse, informative panels, to the top quality screenings in an actual mainstream movie theater… in over ten years of traveling the festival circuit with multiple films, this was, hands down, one of the best-run festivals, and the best times I have even had AT a festival. I wish I had another film ready to go so I could submit next year!"
-- Filmmaker, Heather Connell

"You guys really put on a show! I can't imagine doing what you did to pull things together. The organization and logistics… everything ran so smoothly, and looked so positively effortless, that it belied all the long hours and dedication you poured into this project. You also managed to assemble a marvelous group of volunteers and staff, all of whom are to be commended for their work. I heard nothing but superlatives from all who attended. Filmmakers and audiences alike felt welcomed and nourished by the experience, and I feel certain that the good words they take home with them will go a long way to put this festival -- and your hospitality -- on the map. My wife and I, along with our friends, are already looking forward to next year's festival -- and to watching it grow in your capable hands."
-- Michael Gross, actor, T.V.'s "Family Ties"

"We can't thank Jessica and Marco enough for making our week in Pasadena a memorable one! Plain and simple, PIFF is a filmmaker's festival, and they treat each and every filmmaker with respect and gratitude. You are definitely not just another film in the program guide. They bent over backwards to help promote our film and gave us a blueprint for success once we were accepted. They worked extremely hard to make sure our entire cast and crew (all 16 of us!) felt welcomed. We'll definitely submit to PIFF in the future—we want to feel that special all the time! Big thank you go everyone behind the scenes for your smiles and your willingness to answer every question we had before, during and after. This is how all film festivals should be run!"
-- Jon Sumple, director, "Extraordinary: The Seeding"

The Pasadena International Film Festival seeks to create a place for artists to come together. Sure, there are many festivals, but there can never be a cap on creating art, can there? We harken back to a time of Old Hollywood, the entertainment industry was fresh and new… when there was enough space, and time, and money for everyone. Parties lasted all night, and friendships lasted a lifetime. Won't you join us?

Filmmakers, screenwriters, playwrights, and composers receive complimentary passes, swag, a live screening of their film at a mainstream Movie Theater with an Introduction from Team PIFF and a micro-phoned and moderated "Q and A" after every screening. Passes include access to our nightly Passholders Lounge, Panels, Great Gatsby Gala & Award Ceremony with delicious delectables, and Filmmakers Fete and the food is on us!

All filmmakers, screenwriters, playwrights and composers will receive our gorgeous "OFFICIAL SELECTION" laurels with official PIFF seal.

All Award winners will receive a stunning Sculpture for each award. In addition, our Jury is a cross-section of the best in the industry (including distributors!).

Our winning filmmakers go on to meet with top managers, agents, distributors, and other industry pros. For example, one of our jurors is part of Cannes Film Festival with the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase program, and has "discovered" films via PIFF. Our jury are also in acquisitions and purchase films for their various outlets and platforms such as Shorts TV and IndieRights.

  • We had such a fun time at the Pasadena International Film Festival and are so grateful our short film Back Home was included among so many other amazing features & shorts! Marco, Jessica and the entire PIFF team programmed a great fest with amazing networking opportunities, talented filmmakers and an all-around fun atmosphere.

They even had a fun, 20's themed awards ceremony that gave everyone an opportunity to celebrate indie film and get dressed up for an evening. We highly recommend PIFF and can't wait to attend next year!

I love the Pasadena International Film Festival. I’ve been to many and been a filmmaker at some, and this is one of the best. They create a wonderful atmosphere for viewers and filmmakers alike. They really love films and those that make them. The festival is just a warm, caring, and exciting environment, and they treat people well, respecting their work. I was honored they showed my short film and had a terrific time going.

Marco and Jessica did such a wonderful job at bringing LA's film community together. We were honored to have our films Sinigang and Foreverland as selections of this year's program. We met so many incredible filmmakers and watched a ton of top-notch quality films. Excited to do it all over again next year!

  • I can't begin to express what a terrific experience this was for us! Their years of experience are evident in every aspect of the festival. This was our first time seeing our music video on a big screen and the steps that took to ensure that the quality if the presentation was optimal are very much appreciated. Every step of the way they were accommodating and supportive. We saw dozens of terrific short films and some good news friendships have developed from the contacts we made there. There was a warm, positive energy the whole time. I have attended several festivals in the past and I can't imagine a better experience than PIFF.
