PARAGON Film Festival & Screenplay Contest (SaMo, CA)

Please read all rules and regulations before submitting your project.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PARAGON Film Festival & Script Contest, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos or screenplays entered.

By submitting your film or screenplay to the PARAGON Film Festival & Script Contest the individual or corporation submitting the film or screenplay hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements, rules and regulations.

The PARAGON Film Festival & Script Contest reserves the right to refuse entries.

Requirement.
Submit the film or the screenplay via the Submission Forms mentioned on the official festival website.
We accept all genres in any language from around the world according to the terms mentioned in the Rules of the category.
Please select the right category, while submitting to avoid disqualification.

All entry fees are non-refundable.

All films must be English or have subtitles in English. All screenplays must be English.

After a film or a screenplay has been an official selection, the filmmaker or writer will be notified.
Official selection doesn’t mean that your film or screenplay will be screened or awarded at the festival. That means that you are now eligible for the nomination and you can use the festival Laurel’s picture on your poster.

Submissions.
Submitted copies, if any, will not be returned.

Submission Eligibility
All submissions must have been completed after January 1, 2010.

Premiere Status
There is no premiere policy.

Submission Fee
All submissions to the PARAGON Film Festival & Script Contest are to be paid by credit card or PayPal via the platforms mentioned on the Official Festival Website.
The submission fee is non-refundable.

Shipping
Shippings have to be provided on demand.

Selection
Film Selection (the main criteria, the expert can use additional criteria):
Submissions are reviewed and selected under the following criteria:
Strength and depth of a story
Quality of narrative and production values
Acting
Fresh atmosphere
Screenplay Selection (the main criteria, the expert can use additional criteria):

Festival Screenings and Scheduling
The PARAGON Film Festival and Script Contest provides screenings. The Schedule appears before the Event on the Official Festival Website.

LIABILITY
The sender of the submitted film or screenplay is responsible for all copyrights. He is legally authorized to enter his film or screenplay in the festival and, if selected for the festival, authorized to give screening permission.
The applicant has secured all necessary rights for both picture and sound, and the exhibition will not violate or infringe upon any rights, including but not limited to music, images, and content.
If selected for the festival the applicant acknowledges and agrees that an exhibition quality digital screening file must be made available for screening by the Date of Event.
The film or screenplay, including all copyrights, remains the property of the author.
The films will be handled with the outmost care. However, the festival management will assume no liability for damages or loss.
If screenings or information are inaccurate or flawed, the organizer is only liable in case of gross negligence.
The applicant has to read and accept the regulations and guidelines for participation.

It is hereby understood and agreed that filmmakers who submitted their projects (completed films or scripts) to the festival may be contacted by sales agent to offer services of worldwide sales representation.
Such services, terms and conditions and all financial matters to be agreed in a Commitment letter or Sales Agency Agreement

Awards
Selected Projects can be awarded.
The Jury has the rights not to award category’s projects.

Within the PARAGON Film Festival and Script Contest the Film or Screenplay can be awarded by the Jury by one of the prizes:

Best Film $2000
Best Screenplay $1000

Besides that, each category has non-cash awards:
Best Feature Film
Best Documentary Film
Best Cartoon Film
Best Webserie
Best Short Film 50 min and shorter
Best Student Film
Best Screenplay

Winners shall mention their awards in future copies of the winning film or screenplay as well as in their professional resumes, web pages and similar media.

Non-cash prize award at the Festival event. The Festival may send non-cash prizes by mail with the winner's request. The prices are: $150 or more and $300 or more by sending via the express mail.

The prize money will be paid out by PayPal transfer within 90 days upon contest dates and receipt of all necessary bank details. Bank charges (if applicable) are to be borne by the recipient of the prize money.
