The Oregon International Film Awards®, among Oregon's most prestigious film honors, are presented annually to independent filmmakers and screenwriters from around the world who produce unique and compelling films and screenplays in several competition categories. The Oregon International Film Awards recognizes the very best in contemporary domestic and international independent cinema and screenwriting.

The Oregon International Film Awards serves as a showcase to honor and celebrate the brightest talent in the global filmmaking community while expanding both the audience and appetite for independent film in the state of Oregon. The Oregon International Film Awards believes that independent films broaden the palette of cinema, seeding the global culture with new ideas, kindling awareness, and fostering activism. The Oregon International Film Awards is a competitive event. All films and screenplays submitted to the competition will compete for the prestigious Oregon International Film Awards across several categories and tiers.

The Oregon International Film Awards is an international recognition platform and awards body receiving and evaluating new work from both emerging filmmakers and masters of the craft originating from nations from around the globe.

The Oregon International Film Awards® are presented each year in several categories including four top recognition levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Awards are limited and presented only to those films and filmmmakers that demonstrate a superior level of craftsmanship and quality. In addition, Grand Prize awards are presented to the best project in each main competitive category and Special Jury Awards are presented to films and filmmakers that show originality of vision and creativity.

Rules & Terms

Submission deadlines are the postmark dates that your project was submitted via FilmFreeway.

Please note that we will not view your film until your entry fee payment is received and paid in full.

The Oregon International Film Awards is an awards based competition. Films will not be screened for the public. It is requested, though not obligatory, that any awards received be mentioned in the promotional materials or websites of the films being awarded.

All non-English films are required to have English subtitles.

We reserve the right to make any necessary changes in awards announcement dates or scheduling.

All submissions must fill out the Official Entry Form application. Once you finish all required fields on the official entry form, please mail or email it to us making sure to include your submission.

By submitting your film into competition in the Oregon International Film Awards you expressly agree that you have read and accept all aforementioned rules and regulations.

Screenplay Competition Rules and Regulations:

Entrants retain all rights to their screenplays.

We do accept adaptations.

Screenplays 85 pages or longer are considered feature length.

All submissions are handled fairly and equally, regardless of which deadline you choose. Late submissions are read and judged in the same manner as early submissions. However, we encourage you to submit as early as possible.

Please note that we will not read or review your screenplay until your entry fee is received paid in full.

The Oregon International Film Awards accepts Electronic Screenplay Submissions in .PDF, Word, Final Draft, and Movie Magic formats.

We reserve the right to make any necessary changes in awards announcement dates or scheduling.

You agree to indemnify us and hold us and our employees, owners, affiliates, and partners harmless from all claims and liability associated with your participation or entry to the Oregon International Film Awards.

By submitting your film or screenplay into competition in the Oregon International Film Awards you expressly agree that you have read and accept all aforementioned rules and regulations.

    I agree with Jim below - this is a competition for screenwriters. I had a short place 3rd last year and this year another script wad a finalist and yet another won 1st prize - I'll be back next year !!
