We are currently accepting film submissions for the OM Film Fest in Kansas City, MO that will take place at the Standees Theaters at Prairie Village, Kansas, on a monthly basis.
The submission fee is $25, and the submitted film remains in consideration for screening for six months. Each feature length film entry that is selected for screening at the OM Film Fest will receive 50% of the box office tickets sales for the screening of that film.
The goal of the OM Film Fest is to bring the independent film industry together as a single, coherently functioning community (OM Community), in order for “indie” filmmakers to make new and greater connections with an ever growing global movie going audience, and to provide an equitable income for filmmakers, by paying 50% of the box office sales of the films screened at OM Film Fest to the filmmakers.
The audience will help select the films to be screened in the festival, by viewing the trailers and other promotional and media materials.
At OM Film Fest, it is the filmmakers and the cinemaphiles who become the distributors of their own art.

There are no awards or prizes from the OM Film Fest. Instead, we would like to introduce the “Fair Trade” concept into independent filmmaking. Each feature length film entry that is selected for screening at the OM Film Fest will receive 50% of the box office tickets sales for the screening of that film. See Rules & Terms for more details.

For the OM Film Fest, any independent filmmaker can submit their feature length film (minimum 1 hour in length), along with the marketing material for his or her film, i.e., the official movie trailer, news articles and interviews about the film, awards, backgrounds on the filmmakers and actors, etc. The submission fee is $25. Please be sure to include with your submission a trailer for your feature length film, or a link to the "official" trailer. If your film is selected for screening at the OM Film Fest, you will be required to submit a DCP format of your film, shipped at the filmmaker’s expense, to OM Film Fest in Kansas City, MO, USA. If you do not have a DCP format of your film, OM Film Fest can assist you in obtaining one.

A separate category, "Kansas City Metro Filmmaker Feature Length Films" has been set up for local filmmakers. Please use this category if you are submitting a film, and you reside within the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.

In addition to feature length films being accepted for submission from any filmmaker, anywhere, short films will be accepted, but only from filmmakers who reside in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, USA. Please do not submit short films if you do not reside in this location.

The OM Film Fest Process
The submitted films will be reviewed by the OM Film Fest staff and/or volunteers. Some of those films can be accepted for immediate screening at the next monthly OM Film Fest. Other films reviewed will be selected, and the marketing materials for those selected films will be sent to the local "OM Community" (filmmakers and cinemaphiles) who want to take an active part in determining what films should be screened that particular month at the OM Film Fest. When a specific number of votes is achieved by a film, it will be screened at the next month’s OM Film Fest. If a film is not selected for screening for the next monthly OM Film Fest, it will return to the group of films to be reviewed. Every submitted film will remain in the group of films to be reviewed until it has been selected for screening, or six months has passed since it was submitted.
This same process continues every month for each monthly OM Film Fest.
