SUBMISSIONS OPEN ON MARCH 1st 2017!!!

The 3rd Annual Official Latino Short Film Festival will take place September 15-17, 2017 in Harlem, New York City. The films will be screened at the Poet's Den Gallery and Theater. For more information visit our website www.officiallatino.com

Filmmaker Danny Hastings created the Festival in 2015 in response to the lack of diversity among Academy Award nominees. Our mission is to showcase, nurture, and support the emerging creative American Latino filmmaker in the United States. With the evident lack of American Latino representation in studio films and TV, it's up to us -- the American Latino -- to tell our stories from our perspective. This Festival is created, funded and organized by American Latino filmmakers just like you. We believe that by supporting emerging talent we will begin to see a real representation of us on the BIG SCREEN.

This year's theme is "AMERICAN DIVERSITY" and we're excited about the Festival's new additions aimed at improving the overall experience for filmmakers and attendees.

A great festival, with an amazing support staff. They really go out of their way to shine a spotlight on the filmmakers and are engaged in the promotion and marketing on a level I've never experienced at any other film festival. I only see it getting bigger and better!

I would hate to feel like I am exaggerating my experience of the festival, but I really do not feel like I am in saying that no matter where I find myself in my future I know I will remember going to this festival, and I know I want to come back! As a young student filmmaker, I was so excited to go to NY to attend a film festival, and it was 100% worth every effort and cent to come to this one. Really do hope to come back soon.

they are relatively young but Danny makes it about the filmmakers and their works from the moment you submit your film, to the acceptance, to the actual festival. They are very supportive and want to make sure your film gets the attention it deserves.
