Each year, the New Haven International Film Festival has a PSA competition with a topic relevant to a current affair or important societal issue. Previous awards have included rotation of the PSA on various network television affiliate stations in Connecticut.

Accepted submissions will play throughout the festival.

The winning PSA will play prior to the closing night film at The University of New Haven on November 14. The PSA will play in rotation on numerous websites, social media sites and then possible be selected by an affiliate television station in Connecticut for limited programming. This is subject to final approval from television station.

In 2014, FOX 61 and CT20 played the winning selection for 3 months rotation.

PSA Topic: "Stop Human Trafficking"

PSA must be exactly 30 seconds long with a 3-5 second bumper at the end which will display a visual and verbal tag line and NHIFF logo.

Live motion or animation are acceptable. Overly explicit and violent PSAs will possibly not play on regional affiliate television stations or social media, however might be selected to play during the festival.
