The Mississippi International is in a period of transition for 2016 and will be postponed as we move into a new type of interactive film festival. The plan we are working on involves a host television station becoming a partner in the festival and airing blocks of films live over the air, allowing viewers to watch the film and vote on the winners via text and email.

More will be forth coming in the months ahead as we firm up our transition plans.

Mississippi International brings together both international and domestic Indie Films and Film-makers each year in the capital city of Mississippi, Jackson. This is our second year at the Tinseltown Cinema in Pearl, Mississippi.

Over these past 6 years MIFF has hosted great films and filmmakers from around the US and the world. Special guests Lance Bass, Actor Danny Glover, Civil Rights Champion James Meredith, The Freedom Riders, Capt. Clegg and the Night Creatures have joined us in Jackson for our festival.

$1000 cash prize for "Best Film" of the Festival, given in honor of Neil Bloomer, our head screener and one of the driving forces at the start of the MIFF.
