MAGWILL FILM FESTIVAL is a project of a movie-production and distribution company MAGWILL ENTERTAINMENT, LLC
The main goal of the project is to find out new ideas, fresh names, wow-effects etc to involve them into the process of creating new movies and new content and to support them with grants and cash prizes.

MAGWILL FILM FESTIVAL pays grants and cash prizes for the best movies or trailers or screenplays to support independent filmmakers.
New ideas, new effects, new plots etc.
We take enter fees to select the real interested filmmakers.
We're ready to support the real desire to be creative!

CONTEST RULES:

The Filmmaker submits his/her film or script on this website or via other platforms and pays the entry fee.
Films and scripts produced since 2008 are acceptable.
Entry fees via the website $30 (for filmmakers/writers).
Submitting via other platforms may have different entry fees.

The Magwill Film Festival consists of four contests named Challenges: Spring Challenge, Summer Challenge, Fall Challenge and Year (Magwill) Challenge.

Each Challenge has the same terms and rules.

The Magwill Film Festival mentioned below means each and any of the Challenges.
The Magwill Film Festival is hereby granted the rights to utilize an excerpt from any film or screenplay submitted for promotional purposes of the festival. The individual or corporation submitting the film or screenplay hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements, rules and regulations.

The Magwill Film Festival reserves the right to refuse entries.
The Magwill Film Festival reserves the right to place filmmakers' trailers of no more than 60 seconds on its website, and other media properties (photos etc) to promote Filmmakers work.
The Magwill Film Festival accepts films already released in internet, we understand filmmakers need to promote their work.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Magwill Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos or screenplays entered.

By submitting your film to the Magwill Film Festival the individual or corporation submitting the film or screenplay hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements, rules and regulations.
Requirement. Upload an official poster, synopsis and weblink of your film or screenplay. Submit via alternative platforms like Filmfreeway.com mentioned on the official website magwillchallenge.com.

We accept all genres in any language from around the world.

Please select the right category while submitting to avoid disqualification.

All entry fees are non-refundable.

1. All films must be English or have subtitles in English. All screenplays must be English.

2. After a film or a screenplay has been submitted the film or the screenplay will be listed on the festival official website magwillchallenge.com having status “SUBMITTED”

3.After a film or a screenplay has been an official selection, the filmmaker or author will be notified, and the film or the screenplay will be listed on the festival’s official website magwillchallenge.com having status “SELECTED". Official selection doesn’t mean that your film or screenplay will be screened or awarded at the festival. That means that you are now eligible for the nomination and you can use the festival Laurel’s picture on your poster.

4.Film Submission Format.
Films must be submitted via a link (Vimeo, FilmFreeway screener, YouTube) or via the festival official website submission form only. They can have password which has to be written by submitting. The screenplays must be submitted via FilmFreeway or by the festival official website submission form only. Submitted copies if any will not be returned.

5. Submission Eligibility
- All submissions must have been completed after January 1, 2008.
- There is no premiere policy for submission.

6. Premiere Status
- There is no premiere policy.

7. Submission Fee All submissions for Magwill Film Festival are to be paid by credit card or paypal. The submission fee is non-refundable.

9. Selection
Film Selection (the main criteria, the expert can use additional criteria), :
Submissions are reviewed and selected under the following criteria:
- Strength and depth of a story
- Quality of narrative and production values
- Acting
- Fresh atmosphere

10. Awards
Selected Projects can be awarded.
The Jury has the rights not to award category’s projects.
Within the Magwill Film Festival the Film or Screenplay could be awarded by the jury by one of the prizes:
Winner. The Prize is 5000 USD in cash
Nominee. The Prize is 3000 USD in cash
Golden Grants. $500 in cash each
Grants $100 in cash each
Magwill Film Festival Award.

Decisions of the Jury are final and may not be disputed.

Winners shall mention their awards in future copies of the winning film or screenplay as well as in their professional resumes, web pages and similar media.
The prize&grant money will be paid out by paypal transfer within 90 days upon contest dates and receipt of all necessary bank details. Bank charges (if applicable) are to be borne by the recipient of the prize money.

11. Festival Screenings and Scheduling
Magwill Film Festival has online contests and offline contests.
It is announced the contest type before the contest.
It is announced the screening schedule when the contest is offline.

Please note your work may be mentioned, but will not be uploaded for public or private screenings, giving you control over whether your work is published online or not.
If you want your film to be screened online via Magwill Online Theater during the Festival, you should give us the PERMISSION by sending an e-mail.

Magwill Film Festival aspires to provide the best quality projection possible but will not be held liable for any failure in the technical quality of the projection, nor will fees be refunded in any such case. Magwill Film Festival assumes that the submitting party or filmmaker(s) or entrant(s) or print source company has insured for damage and loss of the festival print or tape.

12 LIABILITY
The sender of the submitted film or screenplay is responsible for all copyrights. He is legally authorized to enter his film or screenplay in the festival and, if selected for the festival, authorized to give screening permission.
The applicant has secured all necessary rights for both picture and sound, and exhibition will not violate or infringe upon any rights, including but not limited to music, images, and content.
If selected for the festival the applicant acknowledges and agrees that an exhibition quality digital screening file must be made available for screening by the Challenge Dates.
The film or screenplay, including all copyrights, remains the property of the author.
The films will be handled with the outmost care. However, the festival management will assume no liability for damages or loss.
If screenings or information are inaccurate or flawed, the organizer is only liable in case of gross negligence.
The applicant has to read and accept the regulations and guidelines for participation.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. I, the representative of the project (Film or Screenplay) being submitted (the “Project"), acknowledge and agree as follows in connection with the Projects's submittal to Magwill Film Festival (the "Festival"):

I hereby represent and warrant to the Festival that (a) I am duly authorized, on my own behalf and on behalf of all other persons or entities who have any ownership rights in the Project, to exhibit this Project at the Festival, (b) this exhibition will not violate any law or any right or consent of any person or entity and (c) the Project is not subject to litigation nor is it threatened by any litigation.
3. I further represent and warrant that, to the best of my knowledge, the exhibition of the Project at the Festival will not violate or infringe any copyright, patent, privacy right, publicity right, trademark, service mark or any other personal or property right of any person or entity and that my Project does not constitute a defamation of any person or entity. I have paid and will pay in full all license fees, clearance fees, and other obligations, of any kind, arising from the exhibition of the Project in connection with the Festival.
4. If accepted, I acknowledge that the Festival's presentation of the Project does not create any confidential or fiduciary relationship between the Festival and I. I understand that I will not receive any compensation for such exploitation, although some prizes at the Festival may include cash awards. I acknowledge that no obligation of any kind is assumed by or may be implied against the Festival because of the Festival's selection of the Project. I understand and acknowledge that the selection of my Project by the Festival does not in any way constitute an express or implied endorsement or approval by the Festival of the content of the Project or any opinion expressed therein.
5. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Festival, the affiliate, subsidiary and parent entities of each, and the officers, directors, employees, attorneys, advisors and agents of each of the foregoing from and against any and all claims, losses, or liabilities (including reasonable attorneys' fees) that may be asserted against any of the foregoing or incurred by any of the foregoing at any time in connection with the Project or the Festival's use thereof, and/or arising from any breach or alleged breach of any representation made by me to the Institute or the Festival.
6. In the event that the Project is accepted into the official Festival program, myself and all other parties involved with the Project agree that the Project will not associate with nor receive support from corporations during or related to the Project's participation in the Festival that are not Official sponsors or supporters of the Festival without prior written consent of the Institute. Methods of support include: hosting a dinner, party or junket for or in conjunction with the Project, providing media space for roundtable or one-on-one interviews, etc. For an official list of sponsors and supporters, please refer to the contributors list at http://www.magwillchallenge.com. If you have been approached by a company or corporation that does not appear on this list, they are NOT officially aligned with the Festival.
7. If accepted, I hereby grant without reservations, to the Festival, and their related entities (a) the right to use footage, stills and/or titles, and information from the Project for promotional purposes and (b) the right to issue and authorize publicity concerning the filmmakers and the Project and to use all associated names, likenesses and biographical information. I also agree to provide contact information for the director and producer(s) of the Project and grant the Festival the right to provide this information to film industry organizations sponsoring Festival events at its discretion.
8. I represent that I am 18 years of age or older, or that if I am younger than the legal age to enter into contracts in my state, I have provided a written consent from my parent or legal guardian. I agree that any controversy arising out of or in connection with my Project and the Festival will be governed by the internal laws of the State of California and conclusively determined by arbitration in the City of Los Angeles in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association before a single arbitrator mutually agreed by the parties. I hereby waive any and all rights and benefits which I might otherwise have or be entitled to litigate any such dispute in court, including without limitation a trial by jury.
9. I acknowledge that I have read and understood the rules and regulations for submitting a Project to the Festival.
10. By submitting a film or screenplay to the Festival, I constitute my full and complete acceptance of the terms hereof. I acknowledge that no oral representations of any kind have been made by the Festival.
