Welcome to the MAGBAS ENTERTAINMENT North American Film Festival! We are a group dedicated to promoting independent film makers and musicians. Our film festival and website are a premier venue for aspiring artists to obtain diverse audience viewership and recognition for their hard work and passion for the arts. We are located in the Pacific Northwest, the fastest growing region in the U.S. We strive to bring independent video, music and cultural diversity to our ever-expanding audiences. Categories:
Documentaries
Any feature-length (over 60 minutes) non-fiction film can be entered in the Documentary category.

Documentaries running between 25 and 59:59 minutes can be submitted to our Long Shorts category.

Documentaries with a running time of less than 25 minutes can be submitted to our Shorts category.
Short

All films under 25 minutes—including documentaries, experimental works, and animation—can be submitted in our Shorts category.
Feature

All feature-length (over 60 minutes) fiction films—including non-narrative experimental films—can be entered in our Features category.
Long Short

Films with a running time of 25:01 to 59:59 minutes—including documentary, experimental works, and animation—can be submitted in our Long Shorts category.

Any film with a running time less than 25 minutes can be submitted to our Shorts category. Any film with a running time of more than 60 minutes can be submitted to our Features category.

GENERAL ENTRY RULES
The Magbas Entertainment North American Film Festival will take place in Eugene Oregon from February 28th to March 10th, 2018 *
1. Submission Deadline
Submissions will be accepted from March 31, 2017. The early deadline is August 5th, 2016, the regular deadline is September 30th, the late deadline is October 31st, and Final Deadline is November 31st, 2017. Early entry is encouraged but in no way guarantees acceptance.
2. Submission Format
Films must be submitted via the FilmFreeway screener, or on DVD or BLURAY mailed, or via a link with password (Vimeo or YouTube). The title, submission ID number, screening format, and running time must be clearly labeled on the disc and cover. Please avoid stickers on the cover. Submitted copies will not be returned.
3. Submission Eligibility
- All submissions must have been completed after January 1, 2014.
4. Premiere Status
- There is no premiere policy.
5. Submission Fee
All submissions for Magbas Entertainment Int’l Film Festival are to be paid by paypal. The submission fee is non-refundable.

All shipping and postage costs for the submission package and, if the film is selected for the Festival, for all prints, tapes and additional materials sent to MENAFF must be borne by the submitting party. MENAFF will not accept Cash On Delivery shipments. MENAFF will not absorb any fees incurred in customs. All charges must be pre-paid. MENAFF will not accept submissions if customs and delivery fees have not been paid by the submitting party.
Submission packages from outside the US must be labeled 'Trade Sample' on any customs label and, for customs purposes, must be given a value of no more than US$10.

GENERAL FESTIVAL RULES
I, the representative of the project being submitted (the "Film"), acknowledge and agree as follows in connection with the Film's submittal to MENAFF (the "MENAFF") for consideration for the Magbas Entertainment North American Film Festival (the "Festival"):
-All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
-Failure to comply with guidelines, rules, regulations, & eligibility is cause for disqualification.
-By entering the MENAFF competition, all entrants release any hold MENAFF, it’s Board of Directors, Officers, Staff and Volunteers from all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation with the competition or in any competition related event.
-Applicants must be 18 years of age or older (or have your parent or guardian submit on minors behalf) to enter the competition.
-All entered submissions must be the original work of the author or authors. Multiple authorship allowed.
-The MENAFF reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any project or film submitted.
-MENAFF submissions are NOT guaranteed to be promoted, honored, or screened at any MENAFF event. Submission, entry and any fees are for an inclusion in the MENAFF Judging Process. Only SOME applicants are chosen to be honored and/or screened at an MENAFF event.
-Submissions & Press Materials will never be returned. DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS. DO NOT EXPECT ORIGINAL DVD's, BLURAY, or any promotional materials to be returned.
-The MENAFF cannot accept or assume responsibility in the event of loss or damage to submission or exhibition or press materials.
-Please Respect all Deadlines and Fees. MENAFF Deadlines are postmark deadlines, please have your film in the mail and fees paid within one week of submitting to be considered for submission.
-Filmmakers who postmarks submissions after the deadline that they submitted under may be subject to additional fees in order for their film to be considered, with any original fees being considered non-refundable.

SCREENING / JUDGING PROCESS
-All films are viewed in their entirety by multiple pre-screeners. Submissions with average grades or better are sent to additional screeners for review. Films with the best screener reviews and grades are given to the Board Of Directors and Festival Programmer for the final program selection process. * Public screenings will be held only based on a minimum 200 over all festival entries in that year.

FESTIVAL PROGRAMMING
- Our Festival Program and our final festival submission determinations will be decided by January. Please check our website on that date to see when and where your film is screening.
- Festival Winners will be contacted by email or phone 1-3 months before the festival, so please include contact information that will reflect how to reach the filmmakers at that time.
- Once your film has been selected for presentation, filmmakers may be asked to send a Exhibition Copy for screening. Films with copies not received in time may be screened using the original submission DVD.
-Screening times and venues are subject to delay or change.
-Please note festival dates are always subject to change.
-Judges, readers, and screeners decisions are FINAL..
-If your film is accepted, you have two weeks to notify the festival if you do not want a screening of your accepted film. By entering the festival you are giving the festival the right to screen your film in any version.
- By entering you are acknowledging that If the festival is not notified within the specified two weeks (14 days) from the date the festival sends email notifications of acceptance to the MENAFF, that your film will be programmed and screened.
-By entering/submitting to the MENAFF you are acknowledging that you have ownership and rights to screen the film you have submitted and that you grant the MENAFF the right to screen your film if it becomes chosen to be accepted to our annual film festival.
-By entering you agree to all of the MENAFF Festival Rules as well as the MENAFF Terms & Conditions (listed below).

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Failure to comply with the guidelines, rules, regulations, terms & conditions and/or eligibility may be cause for disqualification and having your film pulled from screening or competition. By entering you are admitting to reading and agreeing to follow the General Festival Rules and the MENAFF Terms and Conditions. By entering or submitting to any competition you are admitting that you are 18 years of age or older and that you are granting the right to screen your film publicly at least one time in the next year at the MENAFF. By entering or submitting to any MENAFF competition you acknowledge that you are not entitled to any refund or damage claims of any kind if your film is unable to screen due to technical or operational difficulties or if your film needs to be rescheduled or delayed for any reason. By entering or submitting to any MENAFF competition you acknowledge that you are not entitled to any refund or damage claims of any kind in regard to the promotion or advertising of your film. By entering or submitting you are agreeing that the MENAFF is not responsible for films that are missing, damaged, unreadable, lost in transit, or stolen not is the Oregon Independent Film Festival responsible for broken or non-functioning films. By entering or submitting you are agreeing to reading and understanding the following: MENAFF reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. All fees are non-refundable. All submitted materials become the property of the MENAFF and will not be returned. By sending your materials to the MENAFF, you are acknowledge the MENAFF’s right to copy any submitted material, and screen your film or project at least one time in the next 18 months at our Film Festival. By submitting you are also acknowledging the right to allow MENAFF use of images and clips from your film or project for the next 48 months on any MENAFF website and in any MENAFF press materials used to promote the MENAFF festival and events, but NOT for any additional commercial use reproductions of your film images and clips. Prizes, live film screening based on a MINIMUM of 200 entries to this festival. By entering this competition, entrants release and hold the MENAFF, it’s Members, Board of Directors, Officers, Staff and Volunteers harmless from and against all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation with the competition or participation in any competition related activity. By entering this competition, entrants agree to acknowledge the following: SUBMITTER ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES THAT THEIR USE OF THE WEBSITE, ATTENDANCE AT MENAFF EVENTS, OR ENTERING INTO ANY MENAFF EVENT, CONTEST, FESTIVAL OR COMPETITION IS AT THEIR SOLE RISK. THE MEIFF DOES NOT MAKE ANY REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY AS TO THE ACCURACY, CORRECTNESS, COMPLETENESS OR USEFULNESS OF ANY CONTENT APPEARING ON WEBSITE AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ERRORS OR OMISSIONS IN ANY CONTENT APPEARING ON THE WEBSITE, OR GENERALLY FOR THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR QUALITY OF ANY CONTENT APPEARING ON THE WEBSITE OR ANY OTHER METERIALS PUBLISHED, UNPUBLISHED OR DISTRIBUTED BY THE MEIFF, OR ITS AFFILIATES. You acknowledge and agree that this Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of Oregon, excluding conflict of laws provisions thereof that would indicate the application of the laws of any other jurisdiction and you hereby submit to exclusive jurisdiction in the federal and state courts of Oregon. You agree to receive service of process through certified mail or by other means sanctioned by law, and you expressly waive any claim of improper venue and any claim that such courts are an inconvenient forum. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall be enforced. You agree that this Agreement may be automatically assigned by The MENAFF, in its sole discretion, to a third party. Section headings are for reference purposes only and in no way define, limit, construe or describe the scope or extent of such section. Our failure to act with respect to a breach by you or others does not waive our right to act with respect to subsequent or similar breaches. This Agreement, along with any other terms and conditions regulating use of the Website, sets forth the entire understanding and agreement between us with respect to the subject matter hereof. The provisions of this Agreement and any ancillary terms and conditions will survive termination or expiration to the extent necessary to carry out the intentions of the parties. All content contained on MAGBAS ENTERTAINMENT NORTH AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL (MENAFF) Website, including but not limited to video, clips, photographs, text, graphics, logos, icons, images and software (collectively, “Content”), is the property of MENAFF and is protected by U.S. and/or international copyright laws. Any reproduction, modification, distribution, transmission, republication, display or performance of the content contained is strictly prohibited. If you use material appearing on the Website contrary as set forth in the Agreement, you may be liable for infringement, misappropriation or other causes of action to the fullest extent of the law. Unless otherwise indicated, all names, graphics, designs, logos, page headers, button icons, scripts, commercial markings, trade dress, and service names included in the Website are trademarks of the MENAFF and are protected by the trademark laws of the United States and other jurisdictions. You may not use, copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, modify or post any Trademarks in any way, including in advertising or publicity pertaining to or distribution of materials on the Website, without our prior written consent. The Trademarks may not be used in any manner that is likely to cause confusion, or in any manner that disparages or discredits us. You acknowledge and agree that your only remedy for failures, delays or interruptions with respect to the ordering of and delivery of passes ordered by you through the Website or submissions sent through the website or any partner or affiliate is limited to a refund for such passes, issued at the discretion of the MENAFF. Entrants warrant that they have the legal right to enter film work to the MENAFF. As Director/Producer/Submitter of the MENAFF/FilmFreeway SUBMISSION, entrant(s) represent and warrant to MENAFF that the Film or Screenplay and all parts thereof are original; that the submission does not contravene the rights of any person or entity and that entrants own or control the Film and all parts thereof and have the sole authority to submit the Film to the MENAFF; the Film entrants submitted to the MENAFF is not subject to nor threatened by any litigation. Entrants acknowledge that no fiduciary or confidential relationship now exists between the Festival and entrants, and entrants further acknowledge that no such relationship is established by these guidelines, the submission of the Film, or by the MENAFF acceptance, review, or retention of the Film or Screenplay submission. If accepted, I acknowledge that the Festival's presentation of the Film does not create any confidential or fiduciary relationship between the Festival and I. I understand that I will not receive any compensation for such exploitation, although some prizes at the Festival may include cash awards. I acknowledge that no obligation of any kind is assumed by or may be implied against the Festival or the MENAFF because of the Festival's selection of the Film. I understand and acknowledge that the selection of my Film by the Festival does not in any way constitute an express or implied endorsement or approval by the Festival or the MENAFF of the content of the Film or any opinion expressed therein. By clicking "I Agree" below, or by submitting a film or screenplay to MENAFF, I constitute my full and complete acceptance of the terms hereof. I acknowledge that no oral representations of any kind have been made by the MENAFF or the Festival. *All awards, public screenings, prizes, based on a MINIMUM of 200 total entries. I acknowledge that I have read and understood the rules and regulations for submitting a film to the Festival.
