MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The MOTOR CITY NIGHTMARES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (MCNFF) was created to showcase and celebrate the latest and greatest contributions of independent Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Thriller films and screenplays from around the world!
We help filmmakers and screenwriters get the exposure and recognition they deserve!

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
MCNFF is focused on bridging the gaps between filmmakers, fans, and financing. Since our film festival is part of our horror convention, we offer filmmakers the unique chance to hang with the horror icons, party with the fans, and network with distribution representatives and financiers.

MCNFF has partnered with Videomaker magazine to provide all submissions with one free annual subscription to the publication. Previous winners and participants not only got the prize money, but inked their distribution deals and secured financing for future films.

At our April 2016 festival we featured 10 World Premiers, 4 North American Premiers and 19 Convention Premiers. We accept a wide variety of films and you may enter your film in multiple categories. We are expanding the number screenings this year to accommodate more films.

I've been trying to find info on what films won the awards but there's nothing on the website or Facebook. I'm sure the winners would like it for publicity but no show. Disappointing.

Now a twice-annual filmfest/horror-con that is friendly and fun in Metro Detroit. They accept a lot of films, but not a lot of awards. Their film screening rooms need a LOT of work, most notably a huge need to upgrade their sound system. But otherwise, it's a very fun con/fest with a lot of other activities as well, and not terribly expensive.

I was pleased that my film was accepted and screened. The venue had vendors selling interesting items, a restaurant and bar and screened a nice selection of films.

Had a communication issue with the festival which lead to me having to send a second thumb drive in the mail, after the first one was either somehow lost in the mail or by them. Took them 2-3 weeks after I sent the first drive to notify me that they only had gotten the letter in the envelope I sent them and not the drive. Was able to get another one out to them in time to screen in the fest but I could have been notified sooner. This festival definitely feels like a Horror-Con with great vendors and celebrity signings more so than an actual Film Festival.

I won for best screenplay in 2015 and I'm still waiting for my award - and I actually went to the festival in person! I was given a photocopy of an award and promised everything would be mailed out asap. Over a year later and my attempts to contact them for an actual award have been completely ignored. If you want autographs from horror legends or to buy a horror movie t-shirt, then this place is for you. If you're a filmmaker or a screenwriter, you're better off submitting somewhere else.
