International Festival of Films for Children and Youth (ICFF) is annually organized by Farabi Cinema Foundation in affiliation with the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs. It is an event that celebrates films made for children and youth. The festival supports emerging filmmakers with innovative cinematic visions and ideas. It is also an event that serves as a platform for professionals to come together and exchange ideas.

The 30th edition of ICFF will be held from June 30th to july6th, 2017 in the historic city of Isfahan. The event presents feature, short, live-action, puppet and animation films for an entire week with the presence of more than a thousand children, film professionals and eminent guests from around the world.
 Aims:

• Promoting films suitable for children and youth.
• Bringing together high quality, entertaining, multi-cultural and national films for children and young adults from around the world.
• Fostering and promoting understanding and tolerance of other cultures, lifestyles, and experiences.
• Appreciation and creative pursuit of cinematic art among children and youth.
• Supporting talented and dedicated young filmmakers and encouraging exchange of ideas amongst them.

 Festival sections:

The festival comprises of the following sections:

1. Competition of International Cinema

 Live-action films
 Feature-length films (over 60 mins)
 Medium-length films (30 - 70 mins) and short films (3-30 mins.) with a total screening time of maximum 180 mins.

2. Puppet or Animation Films

 Feature-length films (over 60 mins)
 Medium-length films (30-70 mins) and short films (3-30 mins) with a total screening time of maximum 180 mins.

3. Special Screenings (Retrospective of films by a director, panorama of films for youth in a country or region)

 Juries and Prizes:

International Competition

 An international Jury composed of at least five members will be selected.
 Members will consist of film artists and critics active in the field of the intellectual development of children and youth.
 They will separately evaluate live-action and animation films presented in the International Competition Sections.

• The eligible formats for previewing and selection purpose are:
1- Downloadable links (Vimeo, Dropbox, or ftp) with English subtitles and with the following specifications:
o Video File Format: MOV or MP4
o Video Codec: H.264
o Audio Codec: AAC (Channels: Stereo, Sample rate: 96Khz or 48Kh)
o Resolution: Full HD (1920 x 1080 Progressive (1080p))
o Frame rate: 24/25 FPS
o Recommended Bitrate: Video: 5000 Kb/s - Audio: 384 Kb/s
o File Size: Between 2 Gb(s) to 5 Gb(s)
o All films should be submitted with English subtitles file (txt, doc, docx, pdf, srt)

 In case of dispute of interpretation of the regulations of participation, the Festival Director shall have the right to adjudicate all disputes including those related to the matters not specifically covered by the Rules & Regulations, as well as allowing exceptions. The decision of the Festival Director shall be final and binding on the participants concerned.
 The festival directorate reserves the right to exclude films which are not in conformity with the aims of the festival or which could offend the national feelings of any participating country or contain visuals/ dialogues that are discriminatory, offensive or inappropriate for children’s viewership

 CIFEJ Prize:

• An international jury composed of three members will be appointed in accordance with CIFEJ regulations.
• They will be assigned to select and award the CIFEJ Prize to the best feature film screened in the festival.
• The jury will also present an honorary diploma to a medium-length or short film (live-action or animation).

 Rules and Regulations:

 Films should be suitable for children and youth.
 Films produced after January 2015 are eligible for submission only.
 Films should not have been screened in the previous editions of the festival.
 A maximum of two full-length films from each country and three full-length films from Iran will be selected for the competition sections.
 All films screened in the competition sections will receive certificates of participation (in PDF Format).
