The Indiana Film Festival is the only event solely dedicated to short films in the Central Indiana region, with three days of festivities in October. In 2014, it was voted the 4th best short film festival in North America by Audience Awards.

The Festival is held in the historic Royal Theater in Downtown Danville, IN. From its old-fashioned wall draping's leading up the aisles, to the elegant golden R's placed around the theater; you'll know you are stepping into history.

Audience Awards:

Filmmakers spend so much time making movies audiences will enjoy; it is only fitting that you should be able to vote for your favorite films! This is why we give an audience award for each genre of film that is submitted. Audience members at each showing will be given a ballot and are asked to take a moment to fill out their ballot at the end of each screening to be collected by our Film Festival volunteers.

Grand Jury:

The Grand Jury award is presented to the film that receives the highest composite score from our judges. This award is judged by some of the best filmmakers and directors around and is accompanied with a cash award. Films are judged on their cinematic audience appeal, cinematography, audio, music and sound effects, editing, storytelling and directing

NO MORE THAN ONE FILM PER SUBMITTER! If you submit more than one film you will automatically be disqualified. This includes films submitted via a film distributor.

Films need to be 40 minutes or less, including credits. We accept filmmakers from all over the world.

The Indiana Short Film Festival does not charge a fee to enter a film, and submissions are accepted through May 31st.

We accept animation, comedy, documentary, drama, horror, sci-fi and fantasy. Student films are encouraged.

I wasn't able attend however the organisers were very nice via email and phone. They appreciate the hard work and effort that each filmmaker puts in to their projects which is really great and it's wonderful to see how passionate they are about short film. Look forward to submitting my next project to you!
