HMFF 2017 will be taking over Hamilton again for 3 days this year. We will be screening films/videos in between bands at local venues like This Aint Hollywood. Winners will be announced at the end of the weekend. We will have some great prizes, such as $500 equipment rental vouchers, expendibles gift certificates, brewery prize packs, $1000 music video packages, and more. Every filmmaker/band selected for the main competition receives a pass to the entire weekends events.

HMFF is looking for music videos, short films, docs, live performances, trailers, etc., under 15 mins in length.

About HMFF:

HMFF provides great exposure for emerging filmmakers. Many films that have screened at the festival have gone on to international festivals, won prizes to get that next project started, and gained tons of fans along the way. On top of great talent they also have amazing audiences every year, that feel passionately about the arts communities, and also some industry vets, that are looking for the next big thing.

It was great to be selected in the Canadian Music video profile section. A great venue with live bands and music videos, a true music and film festival.

I missed an online official selection listing or program for the music video section of the festival.

This was a poorly run festival. The venue was terrible, the communication was disorganized and very few people came. There were 5 attendees in a small room with folding chairs and a low-res projector. I would recommend skipping this one all together.

    Response from festival:

As we mentioned at 2016's event, our equipment truck was broken into and between a police report and purchasing a new laptop we did fall short. We had 47 attendees throughout the day despite this and screened over 50 selections. The projector bulb was a bit of trouble and the venue was informed.

Unfortunately I could not attend in person. Staff seemed very friendly and easy to deal with by email. Communication with filmmaker was good. Reported to have a good and enthusiastic crowd.
