The festival, the first of its kind to reside in Greensboro, North Carolina, is in its fourth year and features dance films from around the world in both student and professional categories. This year the festival is particularly interested in films that address themes that explore notions of race, place and identity created through the prism of film. Artists in all disciplines of screen dance are encouraged to apply. This year the festival will be presented in multiple venues which include a live opening performance and party, a collaboration with the NC Dance Project outreach programs and the Greensboro Performance Space. The 2017 Festival Programming will also be part of the 17 Days Events in Downtown Greensboro. All events presented against the backdrop of historic downtown Greensboro and the UNCG campus. This year’s festival will culminate with a tour of audience-selected works around the country. Audience selections will also participate in the 4th annual In/Out Dance Festival in Burkina Faso, WA in 2018. This event is free and open to the public.
