Final Deadline Extended to July 10!

This is a contest for screenplays with LGBT characters, history, or themes. Finalists are selected to receive cash prizes and have their work performed as stage readings each November during our Gay Film Weekend. The 2016 Gay Film Weekend is November 11 to 13 at Center on Halsted in the 150 seat Hoover-Leppen Theater. A winner of the contest is named at the conclusion of the weekend.

Awards & Prizes

The five finalists will each receive a prize of $400.

In addition each Contest finalist's screenplay will be performed as a staged reading in the Great Gay Screenplay Finale on November 11 to 13, 2016 at the Hoover-Leppen Theater in the Center on Halsted. Casting for each staged reading will be conducted by Sponsor in advance of that staged reading; cast members for each staged reading will be selected in Sponsor's sole discretion. Each entrant acknowledges that one performer may perform the role of more than one character in that entrant's screenplay.
