Fringe! is a LGBTIQA+ film and arts festival rooted in London's queer creative scene and welcoming everyone. We're not-for-profit and run by a team of passionate volunteers. From feature films to experimental art, workshops to interactive walks and wild parties, Fringe! hosts a multitude of diverse events to tickle every one of the senses. With a signature blend of eye opening movies, DIY and experimental work, the thoughtful, the provocative and the strange, the festival packs out cinemas, art galleries, pop-up venues, basement clubs and virtual spaces across East London.

Fringe! was launched in 2011, by a group of queer creatives as a community response to arts budget cuts. Our mission is to offer a dynamic, representative and unmistakably fresh alternative to other film and arts festivals.

Fringe! is a non-competitive festival.

We do not have any restrictions on runtime, type or genre of film, but we do NOT currently have a VR category.

YEAR OF COMPLETION:
Films must have been completed within the past 3 years before the festival screening (so, your film must have been completed on or after September 2021).

We are only interested in your film itself for submission, and request that no additional publicity materials be sent during the submission period.

Works-in-progress are accepted, but please make this clear in the title.
Trailers will not be accepted as submissions.

FEE WAIVERS:
We are happy to provide fee waivers before the regular deadline if you need one in order to be able to submit your film.

  • Absolutely stellar festival. Such an ace range of things to do and they were very communicative and transparent about everything. Completely gutted I couldn't be there in person for it but you bet I'll do my best to get in again so I can attend properly!

It was a pleasure and an honour to be a featured filmmaker at Fringe! From the welcoming and lovely staff, to the films I've seen and the diversity of events and attendees, I salute everyone who's involved in making this an important and unmissable festival. Thank you so much again and again! Til next year x

  • This festival is just brilliant. It manages to balance radical DIY quirkiness with absolute professionalism.
