Films For Food is a monthly event that takes place in London which allows film lovers to watch a new documentary in return for non-perishable food which then gets donated to the local food bank.

For our audience as well as watching a great documentary they are at the same time doing something positive for their community. Win Win!

Since its launch in 2014 we have done events in various venues in London and have been able to raise several hundreds Kilograms of food which has provided meals for hundreds of people that use food banks.

Our monthly events are very lively and always have a great turn out. Its tradition for us to hand pick short animations made by young people before the feature film.

In the past we screened such festival favourites as 'Nae Pasaran', 'I, Daniel Blake', 'National Bird', 'More Earth Will Fall', 'They Will Have To Kill Us First', 'The Divide', 'We are Many', 'Generation Revolution', 'Mass E Bhat' & 'Udita (Arise). We also screened award winning documentaries 'How To Change The World' & 'A Syrian Love Story' For all the screenings we had the directors come and do a Q&A with the audience.

We hope to have a bumper line up of documentaries for 2019. So please do submit your docs and be part of a community of film lovers and film makers in supporting food banks and the communities that use them.

This will be a rolling deadline so we will accept films all year round. So do not pay attention to the submission dates and deadlines.

Feel free to contact us with any questions.

We usually select documentaries that have been on the festival circuit but if you feel you have a strong documentary that you would like us to consider then please feel free to send it to us.
