GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
The Festival carries out a national and international call that aims to encourage the creation and dissemination of Screendance in a broad sense through the circulation of artists and works from around the world, as well as to promote reflection and training, through its parallel activities.
Article 1 - OPEN CALL
1.1. The VideoDanzaBA International Festival (VDBA) 2023 invites the entire audiovisual and performance community to participate in this meeting where audiovisual proposals will be exhibited and compete. We accept works made from the year 2021 onwards that have not participated in previous editions of the VDBA Festival and that express a creative dialogue between body, movement, camera, image and sound and are pertinent to the axis detailed in the curatorial proposal.
1.2. National and international works of screendance, video performance, video art, visual essay, animation and its hybridizations, in short and medium format, may participate.
1.3. The call for entries will be open until June 4, 2023, exclusively through the FilmFreeway platform: https://filmfreeway.com/FestivalInternacionalVideoDanzaBA . The VDBA 2023 International Festival will take place from September 8 to 24, 2023, both virtually and in person at El Cultural San Martín (Sarmiento 1551 - CABA - Argentina).
Article 2 - SCHEDULE
2.1. Deadline for applications: June 4, 2023.
2.2. Announcement of results: July 17, 2023.
2.3. Deadline for submission of copies for screening: July 30, 2023.
2.4 Festival: September 8 to 24, 2023.
2.5. The above-mentioned deadlines must be strictly adhered to, under penalty of exclusion.
Article 3 - CATEGORIES
3.1 The Festival will include the following competitive sections:
ARGENTINE CATEGORY
Short (up to 15 min including credits) or medium-length (up to 30 min including credits) productions from all over the country, produced or co-produced in Argentina, completed after January 1, 2021, expressing a creative dialogue between body, movement, camera, image and sound and pertinent to the axis detailed in the curatorial proposal, may participate.
INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY
Short (up to 15 min including credits) or medium-length (up to 30 min including credits) productions from any country completed after January 1, 2021 that express a creative dialogue between body, movement, camera, image and sound and relevance to the axes detailed in the curatorial proposal may participate.
STUDENT CATEGORY
All students from the aforementioned regions who are pursuing careers related to the audiovisual arts or movement arts may participate by presenting a certificate of regular student issued by the Educational Institution to which they belong. The duration may not exceed 15 minutes, including credits.
3.2 For all categories, the filmmaker must specify the category in the respective entry form.
Article 4 - ENTRY FEES
4.1. For works made in Argentine territory or by Argentineans, registration is free of charge.
4.2. For works created in other countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, the registration fee will be 5 USD.
4.3. For works created in other territories, the registration fee will be 10 USD.
4.4. For the Student category, registration is free of charge.
Article 5 - SELECTION
5.1. After receiving the entries, the curatorial team of the VDBA Festival will select the videos to be presented to the public. Each selected project will be presented within the Festival, from September 8 to 24, 2023 (at a place and time to be determined by the team).
5.2. The Preselection Committee will be appointed by the production and curatorial team of the VDBA Festival according to the number of competing proposals. This committee will be in charge of pre-selecting the proposals submitted for the different Official Sections in competition according to the curatorial criteria specified above. Notification of those selected will be made by e-mail through the FilmFreeway platform.
5.3. The selection committee reserves the right to select the proposals to be screened, to place them in different programs or sections, competitive or non-competitive, and to screen them on the online platform and/or in theaters as many times as it deems appropriate.
5.4. Audiovisual pieces, with original or recreated choreographies, filmed or videotaped, are accepted. Image and movement must have an artistic dialogue, where it is not possible to separate one language from the other.
5.5. The selected works may be viewed on the digital platforms provided for this purpose free of charge and may subsequently circulate in various activities promoted by the Festival, with the prior authorization of their authors.
5.6. The selected works will be awarded the Festival's laurels.
Article 6 - RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
6.1. 3 to 5 representative stills of the work must be provided for promotion (Recommendation 720 x 1280). Posters with text will not be considered for this purpose. The Festival is authorized to use images, fragments and trailers for publicity and promotion through social networks and the press.
6.2. By submitting their work, participants declare that they hold the copyright of their work, without violating the rights of third parties, and declare that they are responsible for any legal claim related to their work, releasing the Festival from any claims, liabilities, damages and prejudices.
6.3. Registration through the platform will be considered a sworn statement.
6.4. Artists with selected pieces must send the information and materials within the established time, at the risk of being excluded from the program if they do not meet the deadlines.
6.5. Participation in the VideoDanzaBA 2023 International Festival implies knowledge and full acceptance of these terms and conditions. Any exception, doubt or conflict will be evaluated and resolved by the Festival's organizing committee.
6.6. Any doubts arising from the reading and interpretation of this document must be communicated sufficiently in advance through the e-mail videodanzaba@gmail.com and will be resolved by the organization, without appeal on the respective deliberations.
Article 7 - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
7.1. The works may have been made with any capture device.
7.2. In case of having dialogues without language distinction, they must send the corresponding subtitles in Spanish language.
7.3. Multiple entries per person or artistic group (formal or informal) are allowed as long as each work is entered with its respective entry form and the entry is submitted by a representative of that group.
7.5. The format of the films for exhibition must be .mp4, in high quality (Recommendation: minimum resolution HD 720p, 1280x720 pixels, maximum Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels).
Article 8 - RESTRICTIONS
8.1. Advertising pieces or spots, video clips, or recordings of scenic proposals may not participate in the Festival.
8.2. Works whose content violates human rights, promotes violence, or discrimination based on sex, race or any other type of discrimination will not be programmed.
Article 9 - JURY
9.1. The jury will be composed of three professionals in the field outside the organization of the Festival, who will be in charge of choosing the winning works.
9.2. The evaluation criteria will consist of the analysis of the conceptual, artistic and technical proposal and its originality.
9.3. The jury's decision will be unappealable.
Article 10 - AWARDS
10.1. The jury shall award the following prizes:

The Festival will also have 2 Bodies of jurors from collaborative networks of which the VDBA Festival is a member:
RAFMA Award (Red Argentina de Festivales y Muestras Audiovisuales).
REDIV Award
10.2. The jury may award up to two special mentions, indicating the reasons for their merit.
Article 11 - ACCEPTANCE
11.1. Participants shall hold the rights of intellectual property and legal disposition of the image of the persons, if any, appearing in the audiovisual works submitted to the competition. For this reason, they assume any liability that may arise from any type of action or claim made by any person, whether natural or legal, public or private, who considers their rights to be affected.
11.2. The mere fact of participating in the call for entries of the VDBA 2023 Festival implies knowledge and full acceptance of all the terms of these regulations.

REGLAMENTO GENERAL
El Festival realiza una convocatoria nacional e internacional que tiene como objetivo incentivar la creación y difusión de Videodanza en sentido amplio a través de la circulación de artistas y obras de todo el mundo, así como fomentar la reflexión y formación, a través de sus actividades paralelas.
Artículo 1 – ANUNCIO DE CONVOCATORIA
1.1. El Festival Internacional VideoDanzaBA (VDBA) 2023 convoca a toda la comunidad del quehacer audiovisual y performático a participar de este encuentro en donde se exhibirán y competirán propuestas audiovisuales. Podrán participar aquellas obras realizadas a partir del año 2021, que no hayan participado de las ediciones anteriores del Festival VDBA y que expresen un diálogo creativo entre cuerpo, movimiento, cámara, imagen y sonido y pertinencia a los ejes detallados en la propuesta curatorial.
1.2. Podrán participar obras nacionales e internacionales de videodanza, videoperformance, videoarte, ensayo visual, animación y sus hibridaciones, en formato corto y medio.
1.3. La convocatoria estará abierta hasta el 04 de junio de 2023, exclusivamente a través de la plataforma FilmFreeway: https://filmfreeway.com/FestivalInternacionalVideoDanzaBA . El Festival Internacional VDBA 2023 se llevará a cabo del 8 al 24 de septiembre de 2023 de forma virtual y de manera presencial en El Cultural San Martín (Sarmiento 1551 - CABA - Argentina).
Artículo 2 – CRONOGRAMA
2.1. Cierre de convocatoria: 04 de junio de 2023
2.2. Anuncio de resultados: 17 de julio de 2023
2.3. Límite de envíos de copias para proyección: 30 de julio de 2023
2.4. Realización del Festival: 8 al 24 de septiembre de 2023
2.5. Los plazos mencionados deben cumplirse estrictamente, bajo pena de exclusión.
Artículo 3 – CATEGORÍAS
3.1 El Festival incluirá las secciones competitivas que se detallan a continuación:
CATEGORÍA ARGENTINA
Podrán participar producciones de corta (hasta 15 min incluidos los créditos) o mediana duración (hasta 30 min incluidos los créditos) de todo el territorio nacional, de producción o coproducción argentina, terminadas con posterioridad al 1 de enero del 2021 que expresen un diálogo creativo entre cuerpo, movimiento, cámara, imagen y sonido y pertinencia a los ejes detallados en la propuesta curatorial.
CATEGORÍA INTERNACIONAL
Podrán participar producciones de corta (hasta 15 min incluidos los créditos) o mediana duración (hasta 30 min incluidos los créditos) de cualquier país terminadas con posterioridad al 1 de enero del 2021 que expresen un diálogo creativo entre cuerpo, movimiento, cámara, imagen y sonido y pertinencia a los ejes detallados en la propuesta curatorial.
CATEGORÍA ESTUDIANTES
Podrán participar todos aquellxs estudiantes de las regiones antes mencionadas que se encuentren cursando carreras afines a las artes audiovisuales o artes del movimiento presentando certificado de alumno regular expedido por la Institución Educativa a la que pertenecen. La duración no podrá superar los 15 minutos, incluidos los créditos.
3.2 Para todas las categorías el realizador deberá especificar la categoría en la respectiva ficha de inscripción.
Artículo 4 – COSTOS DE INSCRIPCIÓN
4.1. Para las obras realizadas en territorio argentino o por argentinxs, la inscripción es gratuita.
4.2. Para obras realizadas en otros países del territorio latinoamericano y caribeño, la inscripción tendrá un costo de participación de 5 USD.
4.3. Para obras realizadas en otros territorios, la inscripción será de 10 USD.
4.4. Para la categoría Estudiantes la inscripción es gratuita.
Artículo 5 – SELECCIÓN
5.1. Tras recibir las inscripciones, el equipo curatorial del Festival VDBA seleccionará los vídeos que se presentarán al público. Cada proyecto seleccionado se presentará dentro del Festival, del 8 al 24 de septiembre de 2023 (en el lugar y la hora que el equipo determine).
5.2. El comité de Preselección será designado por el equipo de producción y curaduría del Festival VDBA de acuerdo a la cantidad de propuestas concursantes. Dicho comité se encargará de preseleccionar las propuestas presentadas para las distintas Secciones Oficiales en competencia según los criterios curatoriales especificados anteriormente. La notificación de los seleccionados será por mail a través de la plataforma FilmFreeway.
5.3. El comité de selección se reserva el derecho de seleccionar las propuestas a programar, de ubicar a las mismas en diferentes programas o secciones, competitivas o no competitivas, y de programarlas en plataforma online y/o proyección en sala la cantidad de veces que considere oportuno.
5.4. Se aceptan piezas audiovisuales, con coreografías originales o recreadas, filmadas o grabadas en vídeo. La imagen y el movimiento deben tener un diálogo artístico, donde no sea posible separar un idioma del otro.
5.5. Las obras seleccionadas se podrán ver en las plataformas digitales dispuestas para ello de forma gratuita y podrán circular posteriormente en distintas actividades impulsadas por el Festival, previa autorización de sus autores.
5.6. Las obras seleccionadas contarán con los laureles del Festival.
Artículo 6 – DERECHOS Y OBLIGACIONES
6.1. Se deberán proporcionar de 3 a 5 fotogramas representativos de la obra para difusión. (Recomendación 720 x 1280). Los afiches con texto no serán tomados en cuenta para este propósito. Se autoriza al Festival el uso de imágenes, fragmentos y trailers para piezas de difusión y promoción a través de redes sociales y prensa.
6.2. Al presentarse, las personas participantes declaran tener los derechos de autor sobre sus obras, sin violar derechos de terceros, y declaran ser responsables de cualquier reclamo legal relacionado con su obra, liberando al Festival de cualquier reclamo, responsabilidades, daños y perjuicios.
6.3. La inscripción a través de la plataforma tendrá carácter de declaración jurada.
6.4. Lxs artistas con piezas seleccionadas deberán enviar la información y materiales en el tiempo establecido, a riesgo de ser excluidos de la programación en caso de no cumplir dichos plazos.
6.5. La participación en el Festival Internacional VideoDanzaBA 2023 implica el conocimiento y total aceptación de las presentes bases y condiciones. Cualquier excepción, duda o conflicto, será evaluado y resuelto por la comisión organizadora del Festival.
6.6. Las dudas que surjan de la lectura e interpretación de este documento deben comunicarse con suficiente antelación a través del correo electrónico videodanzaba@gmail.com y serán resueltas por la organización, sin apelación sobre las respectivas deliberaciones.
Artículo 7 – ESPECIFICACIONES TÉCNICAS
7.1. Las obras podrán haber sido realizadas con cualquier dispositivo de captura.
7.2. En caso de tener diálogos sin distinción de idioma, deberán enviar los subtítulos correspondientes al idioma español.
7.3. Se permiten múltiples inscripciones por persona o colectivo artístico (formales o informales) siempre que se inscriba cada obra con su respectivo formulario de inscripción y que la misma sea presentada por un representante de ese colectivo.
7.4. El formato de las películas para exhibición debe ser .mp4, en alta calidad. (Recomendación: resolución mínima HD 720p, 1280x720 píxeles, máxima Full HD 1920 x 1080 píxeles).
Artículo 8 – RESTRICCIONES
8.1. No podrán participar del Festival piezas o spots publicitarios, videoclips, o registros de propuestas escénicas.
8.2. No se programarán trabajos que en su contenido atente o vulnere los derechos humanos, fomente la violencia, o la discriminación en razón de sexo, raza o cualquier otro tipo de discriminación.
Artículo 9 – JURADO
9.1. El cuerpo del jurado estará compuesto por tres profesionales en la materia ajenos a la organización del Festival, quienes serán lxs encargadxs de elegir las obras ganadoras.
9.2. Los criterios de evaluación consisten en el análisis de la propuesta conceptual, artística y técnica y su originalidad.
9.3. La decisión del jurado será inapelable.
Artículo 10 – PREMIOS
10.1. El jurado otorgará los siguientes premios:

El Festival contará también con 2 cuerpos de jurado de redes colaborativas del cual el Festival VDBA es miembro:

10.2. El jurado podrá otorgar hasta dos menciones especiales, debiendo indicar la motivación que los hace merecedores de los mismos.
Artículo 11 – ACEPTACIÓN
11.1. Las personas participantes tendrán que ostentar los derechos de propiedad intelectual y de disposición legal de la imagen de las personas, que, en su caso, aparezcan en los trabajos audiovisuales presentados a concurso. Por esta razón asumen cualquier responsabilidad que se pueda derivar de cualquier tipo de acción o reclamación, formulada por cualquier persona, tanto física como jurídica, pública o privada, que considere afectados sus derechos.
11.2. El solo hecho de participar en la convocatoria del Festival VDBA 2023 implica el conocimiento y total aceptación de todos los términos del presente reglamento.
