福爾摩沙國際電影節（FFIFA）是一個位於台灣的非營利與非政府藝文組織，所有的運作皆由世界各地的姐妹影展、合作放映單位以及影展志工共同協助完成。影展宗旨在於連結台灣在地與全球年輕獨立影像創作者，關注環保、生態與在地文化，鼓勵新型態影像創作。FFIFA希望吸引全球優秀電影人聚集台灣，提供各國電影導演互相交流的平台，促成台灣導演與國際創作者連結，建立更大的創作網路，FFIFA不但開放全球徵件，更希望在影展期間全球電影創作者可以藉著在影展城市移動、生活、交流的過程中，獲得更多靈感，認識更多創作夥伴，並藉由FFIFA認識台灣的更多面向。

【Our goals】
FFIFA, Formosa Festival of International Filmmaker Awards, is a non-profit and non-governmental arts and cultural organization based in Taiwan. All operations are assisted by sister film festivals, co-screening units, and film exhibition volunteers worldwide. FFIFA is dedicated to providing filmmakers an international platform for networking, sharing, and exchange for filmmaking resources and experience, focusing on the environment, encouraging various new types of visual creation, and connecting independent filmmakers from both Taiwan and the rest of the world. By means of gathering talented filmmakers and showcasing independent films, we hope the filmmakers from all over the world can get to know more about Taiwan and gain more creative inspiration and filmmaking partners by eating, moving, living, networking, and watching films on this beautiful island.

因為疫情之故，2020年的FFIFA最終單純於線上公布得獎名單並取消了所有實體活動。即使如此，第四屆FFIFA徵件仍將於2021年第一季開放，而且我們特別增加了「疫情療癒系主題」以及「友善環境與地方創生」兩個獨立徵件項目，希望藉此鼓勵更多相關議題的創作。

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, FFIFA in 2020 was eventually forced to announce the list of winners online and cancel all physical activities. Even so, the FFIFA2021 will still open for submission in the first quarter of 2021, and we have added two extended solicitation projects, "COVID-19 Healing Theme" and "Environment Friendly and Placemaking". The whole event will be an extraordinary, intellectual, honorable, relaxing, and fulfilling trip for filmmakers who are interested in Taiwan. Of course, to cope with the current global situation, online screenings and online post-screening panels have been added this year. It is expected that the epidemic will gradually ease, and the largest proportion of physical activities will eventually be retained. If the epidemic continues to expand, only virtual online screenings and post-screening forums will be retained.

Taiwan is one of the most creative and advanced countries in the world. Taiwanese directors such as Ang Lee, Hsiao-Hsien Hou, Edward Yang, and Ming-Liang Tsai are internationally well known. Besides filmmaking, many other industries in Taiwan are in the World's Top 10 such as the globally recognized yacht builders, the 2015 World’s Best Whisky Award winner Kavalan, the worldwide household ASUS, Acer, Garmin, etc. Above all, Taichung is the most potential international city for filmmaking in Taiwan. Ang Lee and his production and visual effect teams spent 2 years staying in Taichung and produced the Oscar-winning “Life of Pi”. And the Taichung Cinematic Park has already been launched and is open to the world. Besides, the three major national art and cultural organizations are located here including the National Taichung Opera Theater, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and the National Library of Public Information.
