Devour! The Food Film Fest is an international festival celebrating cinema, food and wine culture. The five-day festival takes place in the culinary epicentre of Nova Scotia – the town of Wolfville, Kings County. The festival is an experiential celebration of food on film, the culture of food and the dramatic impact it has on our day-to-day lives. The seventh edition of Devour! The Food Film Fest runs October 25-29, 2017.

2016 festival was our largest program to date with 10,000 people in attendance at 94 unique events over five days including 80 new food & wine films in 30 screenings, 24 workshops, 20 tasting tours, and 20 dinners, parties & events.

Notable celebrities and chefs that have participated in Devour! Include: Anthony Bourdain, Bill Pullman, Jason Priestley, Chuck Hughes, Michael Städtlander, Dominique Crenn, Bob Blumer, Normand Laprise, Barbara Lynch, Mary Sue Milliken, Jeremy Charles, Rob Gentile and John Higgins.

Rules & Terms

To be considered for screening submitted films must be about food or the environment in some way. Shorts 59 minutes or less. Features 60 minutes or more.

There is an entry fee.

Films with commentary or dialogue in languages other than English must be subtitled or dubbed in English for consideration.

Entries must be submitted by secure online screener. If selected for the Festival, exhibition prints will be presented on DCP or Blu-Ray.

All entries are viewed and chosen by a Programming Committee. Final selections are at the sole discretion of the Festival.

Entrants will be notified of the decisions of the Programming Committee by August 2017.
