Short & Feature length Winners receive a week-long Los Angeles showcase for media appropriate for cinematic release; 2500 hours content will be invited to compete in various categories during the online preliminary phase.

All content is screened at least twice in the competition. About 15 percent are screened a third time. About 5 percent of entries advance to the competition quarterfinals, about 2 percent advance to the semifinals and about 10 entries reach the finals. Top 250 hours of IP and their creators will be invited to attend.

Winner to receive $50k production deal with y@! and Storyville Productions. All films selected will be featured a platform and filmmakers compensated. Wherey@!?

1. General entry requirements
Deadlines for entry 2017

• January 1, 2017 for all content through April 1, 2017.
Format, language and version

• DIGIMRKT considers content of any length. Please check entry requirements per section below (see 2) for any specific length requirements.

• If your IP is selected for the market, DIGIMRKT accepts the following screening format: DCP (2K/4K). DIGIMRKT requires all DCPs to be in XYZ color space encoded in JPEG2000. Presentation of other formats and video systems requires authorization from the market.

• Content will be presented to visitors and professionals. The IP will be presented with English dialogue or in their original versions with English subtitles. We advise you to also subtitle films if they are spoken in English which is hard to grasp for non-native speakers, i.e. an accent or slang.

• It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to secure clearance from the copyright holders of any copyrighted materials included within the submitted content. DIGIMRKT will not be held responsible for the unauthorized inclusion of any copyrighted materials within or relating to the submitted IP. DIGIMRKT reserves the right to disqualify any content with any unauthorized inclusion of copyrighted materials.

• DIGIMRKT is under no obligation to provide comments or feedback regarding the submitted content to the applicant or any other representative of the submitted IP. If the IP does not meet all of these requirements, it will not be eligible for selection.

2. Entry requirements per section
DIGIMRKT selects some 250 new IP each year, divided into various competition and regular programs. The General entry requirements apply to all program sections, unless it is stated otherwise below.

2.1. DIGIMRKT Competition for Feature-Length Content
• For content longer than 63 minutes
• Only world, international and American premieres are accepted;
• Only world premieres can be accepted
• National theatrical release or television broadcast is NOT permitted.

2.2. DIGIMRKT Competition for First Appearance
• Open to first-time or second-time creator . When deciding whether this is your first or second IP, DIGIMRKT not only counts your previously produced content, but also fiction, animation and experimental, VR content. Graduation projects from film schools or universities should be submitted for the Downstream Co-Op Competition for Student Content (Section 2.6)
• Open to content of any length
• Only world, international and American premieres are accepted priority is given to world premieres
• Only world premieres can be accepted
• National theatrical release or television broadcast is NOT permitted

2.3. DIGIMRKT Competition for Short & Mid-Length Content
• For content between 42 and 62 minutes
• Only world, international and American premieres are accepted
• Only world premieres can be accepted
• National theatrical release or television broadcast is NOT permitted

2.4. DIGIMRKT Competition for Louisiana Content
• Content from the DIGIMRKT Competition for Louisiana Content section plus Louisana productions from the DIGIMRKT Competition for Feature-Length Content, DIGIMRKT Competition for Mid-Length Content and DIGIMRKT Competition for First Appearance compete for the DIGIMRKT Award for Louisiana Content
• Open to Louisiana productions. If 50% or more of the film’s financing originated from sources within Louisiana, the IP will be regarded as being a Louisiana production
• Only world premieres can be accepted
• Open to content of any length

2.5. DIGIMRKT Competition for Student Content
• Open to (graduation) content for a film school/university.
• Open to IP of any length (content under 7 minutes could also be included in this section)
• Screening or broadcast in the anywhere prior to the market will exclude the IP

2.6. DIGIMRKT Competition for Animation
• Open to all IP within these genres
• Open to films of any length
• Screening or broadcast in the prior to the market will exclude the IP
• Content will be presented to visitors and professionals
The IP will be presented with English dialogue or in their original versions with English subtitles

3. How to enter your IP
DIGIMRKT must receive an online screener, a completed DIGIMRKT entry form and payment of the $150 entry fee (excl. tax). Please note that the entry fee is non-refundable. Your entry will only be accepted if all the required materials and information are received on time. Complete the entry form in English and fulfill your payment for the entry fee. If your submission is successful, you will receive a confirmation email which you can print for your records. Incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration.

Summarizing the above, your IP will only be taken into consideration when:

• You have submitted the entry form and payment has been confirmed

Details for your online screener should be filled out in the entry form. Please note that it is your responsibility to make sure the password will be working up until the end of the market.

Your application will be considered once we have received the online screener. We will confirm receipt of your entry by e-mail. If the film is selected, you are expected to provide a high-res video file of the final English version and additional information in a timely manner for the purposes of the market catalogue, publicity and the screening of the IP.

A complete entry form is available at FilmFreeway.com, IP may be eligible for several sections. In case of selection, DIGIMRKT will decide for which section(s) the IP is selected. On the entry form, you will be asked to provide a synopsis of the IP and a detailed digiography of the creator(s).

The entry form also consists of a checklist showing all the information needed for the IP to be taken into consideration.

4. Selection procedure, required items and authorizations
Selection Procedure
The market's selection committees select the IP that will participate in all program sections. When the IP is selected, the festival will notify the applicant, creator and distributor of the content no later than on June 1, 2017.

Once your IP has been selected, you may use the DIGIMRKT logo and the relevant DIGIMRKT laurel for publicity purposes. The file will be sent to you in digital form.

Required items for selected IP
• Content stills (high resolution, at least 3Mb each). Stills can be uploaded via your FilmFreeway account or can be sent by email to your contact person at the Program Department • Separate electronic press kit (EPK) with a passport-sized photo of the content’s creator(s), a synopsis, a list of credits, biography and/or digiography. Additional material is welcome.
• A high res video file of the final English version.
• A high res video file of the trailer.
• Please follow Vimeo’s compression guidelines ( https://vimeo.com/help/compression ) for all submitted video files.
Authorizations
After selection of the IP, the market has the right to:
• Use a maximum of ten minutes of video from the IP for publicity and online purposes.
• Use all publicity material to promote the market.
• Keep the high res video files of selected IP in its archive for non-circulating use and educational purposes. • Program the IP free of charge during DIGIMRKT sponsor days
• Program the IP free of charge within the framework of The Best of MRKT screenings
• Program the IP free of charge within the framework of DIGIMRKT alliances and partnerships during the market
• Program the IP free of charge within the framework of the DIGIMRKT Educational Programs
• DIGIMRKT may screen nominated and/or award-winning content after the market in its DIGIMRKT on Tour’ program for a fixed fee. Winners receive LA screenings* a true Oscar qualifier* (US / foreign showcase).

Emerging Talents winners can earn studio time credit and/or paid internship with y@! and Storyville Projects while having current as well as future work curated. All screened films will premiere on y@! Mothership and run cross local bureau of origin or topical interest. Winner to receive 50k production deal with y@! and Storyville Productions. 5. Transport and insurance
Transport of screening copy
The market must receive the screening copy of the IP by December 7, 2017 – preferably to be shipped by Fedex. Please assign the package a value that does not exceed 10 Euros or 10 dollars.
DCPs are fragile, please ship them well packed. DIGIMRKT cannot be held responsible for hard drive failures resulting from bad packaging. DIGIMRKT strongly prefers DCPs to be shipped on CRU carriers.
Your contact person from the program department will contact the creator or distributor about the shipment and the exact shipping address.

With regard to IP coming from outside the United States: a pro forma invoice must accompany the print or video, stating the name of the sender, the title of the IP, its size and length.

Please note that all format IP coming from outside the United States should be exported permanently (type of export). The market will return the copy within four weeks of the end of the market. The recipient will receive a dispatch notice from the market.

Transport costs
The costs of transport of DCPs (both from the United States as well as from outside the United States) to the market office are the responsibility of the applicant, but DIGIMRKT will pay for their return to the destination of choice.

Insurance
Insurance for the shipping of films to and from the New Orleans is entirely the responsibility of the participants. Upon gaining possession of the ip from the courier or shipping company, the market can only accept limited liability, extending to the time that the market organization returns the IP to the shipping company. The definition of this limited liability includes a refund of laboratory expenses for making a new DCP. This refund will be calculated according to the current Louisiana laboratory prices.

In the case of faulty projection, the market cannot be held liable for intangible losses incurred by creator or distributor. Complaints will only be considered if they are filed within six weeks following the market. Guests of the market are not covered by the market’s insurance. Publicity material and other related items are not included under the limited insurance liability.

6. Accommodation expenses
The market will do its utmost to provide free hotel accommodation for creators whose IP has been selected for the DIGIMRKT Competition for Feature-Length, DIGIMRKT Competition for First Appearance, DIGIMRKT Competition for Mid-Length, Downstream Co-Op DigiLab Competition for Digital Storytelling, DIGIMRKT Competition for Student Content, DIGIMRKT Competition for Animation, Virtual Reality. Best of Mrkt, Masters, Music Documentary, and Paraigi only in case they are non-New Orleans metro residents . After selection DIGIMRKT will inform creators about all guest arrangements. In case there are several creators involved per IP at least one of the creators will receive free hotel accommodation.

Contributions to traveling expenses are not included in the standard payments made to creators. Occasionally, DIGIMRKT is able to make a contribution towards the traveling expenses of creators with IP included in the program. Anyone who wants to attend the market must fill out and return an accreditation form via DIGINOLAMRKT.

7. Juries and awards

Buyers can view the complete Digi for Sale catalogue within the multi-booth video library which is open daily from 10am to 10pm. The video library is situated adjacent to the Digi for Sale Lounge which itself provides the perfect place for producers and sales agents to conclude deals with buyers, or to plan their further sales meetings.

We will also organize the Meet the Professionals sessions where sellers can book one-on-one meetings with various TV buyers, festival programmers and sales agents. A series of social events will offer even more opportunities for professionals to network.
