DEDfest is Western Canada’s premiere horror, cult and sci-fi film fest. Films screened last year included the acclaimed crime thriller LOWLIFE, the indie hit TRAGEDY GIRLS, and the Canadian Premiere of TIGERS ARE NOT AFRAID.

Past guests have included Michael Biehn and Jennifer Blanc-Biehn, Danielle Harris, Astron 6 (Manborg), actor/writer/director Jeremy Gardner (The Battery), author Kier-La Janisse, director/producer Josh Waller (Camino), director Dennis Hauck (Too Late), writer/director Issa Lopez (Tigers Are Not Afraid), director Ryan Prowns and producer Tim Cairo (Lowlife), documentarian Kevin Burke (24x36), writer/director Gabriel Carrer (The Demolisher), and legendary writer/director/musician Henry Rollins.

All Submissions:
-Non-English language film MUST be subtitled
-Clear description/synopsis of the film including rating if applicable.

All selections:
If your film is selected you must be able to provide the following:

-Film Festival requests an information and materials package for each confirmed film, ideally including the following:
a) a brief written description of the film
b) a selection of electronic images or website
c) two posters
d) DVD preview copy (NTSC)
e) press kits including a complete credit list and director’s filmography

Accepted films for the Festival can be exhibited on DCP***, 35mm film, DVD, and BluRay.

Films will be returned upon request after the festival conclusion. Each print sent to the Festival from outside of Canada enters the country on a Canada Customs "Duty Free Temporary Admissions Permit"(form e29b) and must be returned after the Festival, or have the declared value as $1. We pay for shipping to and from the festival if the print is being returned to you, if the print is being forwarded to another festival the next festival must arrange for payment and appropriate documentation in a timely fashion.

*** DCP MUST be accompanied by a BluRay backup, we don't like them either but the frantic stress when the festival is a week away and the projectionist tells you the DCP won't ingest or the encryption keys don't work is too much to bear)
