Born in 2012, The Cardiff Mini Film Festival believes that films can be made on very little or no budget, just pure hard work and dedication from the people involved. With this in mind we bring you a festival where money is not the key to a great film, if you are a student, low budget production company or are someone who makes films at home, then this festival is for you. No longer will your entry be obliterated by a big budget production company, if you have the skills to tell a story then you could be the winner of the next Cardiff Mini Film Festival.

All kinds of people come to our festival, from actors to musicians, as well as special guests from within the industry which in the past have included Boyd Clack (Twin Town, Satellite City, High Hopes), Kirsten Jones (Satellite City, High Hopes), Philip John (Being Human, Kevin Allen (Twin Town), Downton Abbey) Ryan Eddleston (Prevenge), S4C, Ffilm Cymru Wales, Creative Skillset, Cult Cymru and many more people to meet to discuss your career in the industry.

We also screen many special under distributed films for those film lovers out there, in underused spaces such as bars and empty shops.

We pride ourselves on being a bit different and you can expect to be watching films in coffee shop vaults, an antiques market, funky bars and other fantastic unusual venues we can get our hands on. This is a festival for those that like to mingle with a drink throughout the day whilst enjoying the best up and coming short films.

We are supported by Ffilm Cymru Wales.

I could not attend the festival unfortunately but i m very satisfied about my experience, it is a FIVE STAR FESTIVAL. The manager Jody is very nice and you get some updates from her by email and reply to any email. The festival is really well organized and the promotion of movies is very professional. I was enough lucky to win a award and they were really nice to send me a beautiful trophy by mail very quickly and they pay themselves postal costs ! Thank you very much to all your team !

I was really happy to attend this festival and see my film screened in the Factual category.

I loved the fact that Cardiff Mini Film Festival feels really indie and DIY but is still really professionally run. The volunteers and organisers clearly have great passion for film, and local film makers are championed, but in a way that doesn't isolate people entering from outside Cardiff.

And above all, I just want to congratulate CMFF on being a champion for proper DIY film projects, that don't get a chance elsewhere because we're competing against films with real budgets. CMFF really recognise this and it was a great honour for them to show my film.

I also enjoyed the awards ceremony and got talking to a few other film makers before I had to run for my train!

p.s. the branding and design for the festival is also ace!
