Submission of a film to the Build It! Film Festival (BIFF)constitutes acceptance of these Entry Rules & Regulations (by filmmakers and their agents). Please review this document carefully.

The individual or entity submitting this film (1) warrants that it holds all necessary rights for submission of this film for exhibition in the BIFF. By submitting to BIFF you consent to its use in related promotional and educational events prior to the festival and up to 24 months thereafter and (2) shall indemnify and hold harmless BIFF from and against any and all claims, costs, suits, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and court costs) by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, royalties, publicity and/or screening related to the film. In addition, the individual or entity understands that the BIFF will handle the film and any related materials with a maximum of care but shall not be held liable for any damage or loss.

Accepted filmmakers agree to arrange and pay any costs associated to delivery of final exhibition materials to the BIFF, including payment of shipping, insurance and customs fees. BIFF cannot return any materials unless specific arrangements are made by the filmmaker.

Entrant agrees that he/she shall receive no compensation for the screening or use of the film, clips, trailer or other materials (i.e. press kit) related to the film for the purposes of promoting and conducting the festival and its screenings. Promotion includes but is not limited to print, online video, and broadcast.

Final acceptance decisions are made by the BIFF film jury. These decisions are final and are not subject to appeal. In the event of a tie in audience voting and/or in the BIFF Jury voting, the Festival Organizer will cast the deciding vote to break the tie.

The BIFF shall use best efforts to ensure correct title and credits are listed on festival materials but shall not be held liable for inadvertent errors and omissions. BIFF reserves the right to adjust dates and times of film screenings and shall not be responsible for delays or cancellations due to equipment failure, shipping delays, inclement weather, the condition of the prints delivered, or for any reason outside the control of BIFF.

The BIFF reserves the right to decide all questions not specifically provided for herein.
The BIFF reserves the right to remove a film from the festival program for any reason or for no reason and shall not be liable for any refund or claims of any kind arising out of such removal.

All non-English language films must have legible English language subtitles. We encourage the submission of international and non-English language films; however, due to the reading level of some of our younger audience members non-verbal films are preferred. In order for the BIFF to not limit the creativity of filmmakers or the types of films submitted, decisions will be made on a film-by-film basis.

Individuals under the age of 18, at the time of submission, must have his or her Parent or Legal Guardian sign the consent form to submit an entry to the festival. Consent form located here .......
