FEATURE SCREENPLAY RULES
Writers from all countries are welcome to enter the B.U.G.A. Screenplay Competition. All scripts must be written in English.
The script must be the writer’s original work. Adaptations are accepted but the writer must own all copyright. At no point will B.U.G.A. Screenplay Competition ever have any rights over your work.
All ages are welcome.
Each writer, or writing team, may not have earned more than$10,000 in writing fees. Previous screenwriting cash awards do not count towards this total.
If a script is optioned or purchased during the competition, then it will no longer be eligible for the contest.
Scripts should be formatted at size 12 Courier.
The only script file formats we accept are PDF.
Please ensure your script is as close to the standard 80-120 pages as possible. Email us if you have any questions over the length of your script.
We accept all genres.
The winners agree to allow B.U.G.A. Screenplay Competition to use their name and script title on the website. This will be used to inform other contestants and the media of the results.
The decision of the judging panel is final. All judges and sponsors are immune from any competition disputes.

As the authorized representative for the above-mentioned script, I accept the conditions and rules described on this entry form. I attest to the fact that this screenplay submission has not been optioned or purchased, and is not in current production or post-production. Should the optioning, purchasing, or production status of the script change, I will contact B.U.G.A. Screenplay Competition immediately in writing to have the script removed from competition.
If this script is selected as a finalist and / or prize winner of the B.U.G.A Screenplay Competition, I grant Buga Films the right to use all writers' names and likenesses in conjunction with the promotion of the B.U.G.A. Screenplay Competition without additional / any competition. This includes, but not limited to, listing of finalists and prize winners on the Buga Films website; in Buga Films press releases and media coverage surrounding the screenplay competition.
