Falling Deeper
A solitary drone travels great distances as it explores its universe and the reasons behind its existence. As time passes, it begins to experience magnificent mirages which fuse his imagination with its reality. Its felicity is short-lived, however, as its imaginary world eventually falls apart - the result of his rapidly depleting battery. It finally climbs higher and higher up into the clouds.

Ryan Chow is a Canadian-Hongkonger currently in high school at the United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA) in Singapore. Since an early age, he has been passionate about filmmaking and storytelling - wanting to capture feelings, power, and beauty and churning it into stunning works of art.
Hello! My name is Ryan Chow. I’m a high school student passionate about and intending on pursuing filmmaking as a career. I wrote Falling Deeper when I was 15 years old and together with a small team of very talented artists and other filmmakers, we travelled around Hong Kong and Singapore with two drones and an idea. Since I got my first drone a few years earlier, I’ve been excited about filmmaking and drones in particular. I thought about how I could incorporate drones into a film even more which is how I got inspired to make this film. The result is a film my team and I are very proud of as given our lack of formal education and professional help nor expertise with this film. As a result, we feel we’ve achieved our goals of making a beautiful, artistic film which displays the beauty of Hong Kong for all to see. I hope you love this film as much as we do!
