I love making films because for that brief moment. Suppose I'm writing, directing, or behind the camera doing cinematography or editing. I want my audience to forget their problems for a brief second and experience the story in its purest form.
I am a South African-born filmmaker Khensani Makgatholela. I was born to parents Constance and Godfrey Makgatholela. From the moment I can remember I have loved movies. When my father introduced me to the first movie, I can remember Shark boy and lava in 3-D. It is the little Six year old I always want to appease to disappear into the world and feel what the characters feel. Experiencing the journey with them. I think one thing for sure is, the pure bliss of being in a dark theatre with whatever snack or beverage you have and simply enjoying whatever movie you are watching is magical. My story is still being written to this day but one thing I can say is hopefully I am given the opportunity to show the world audience that there are talented filmmakers from Africa.
