Private Project

Michel Foucault argues that imprisonment is a method of intervention on the personality. The prison is to be seen as a place, where punishment and discipline are carefully used to subjugate both body and soul of the prisoner. Even long after the imprisonment, this submission is capable of reproducing itself in an endless loop.

The short film allows us to accompany the first-person narrator and discover how his traumatic experiences re-emerge under the influence of the modernist architecture in Vienna, Europe. While past and presence intertwine, we the viewers, investigate how the routine rituals of imprisonment affect the life of the then-prisoner.
