Director Statement

As a director and writer I have always been attracted to biopics.
I find that true stories have a greater impact on the viewer.
And at that time I wanted to write a scenario about the criminal culture in Tunisia, my country, and I didn't have to look for much, I immediately decided to write a film about NACER, the most prolific serial killer in the history of Tunisia, a psychopath who raped and killed 13 children, when we hear that it already gives us goosebumps. Nacer is a complex character, after months of research I begin to understand my intentions with regard to this film, a work of cinema is made to entertain but there is always a message, and mine is directly visible by the title of the film EVEN GOD WONT FORGIVE

Nacer is the last prisoner executed under the order of the deposed former president zin abidine ben ali in 1992, of a prostitute mother, born in prison, he knew his biological father at the age of 30 years in a prison, from his information I already start to write the basic lines, then I start to dig to have the details and after months I finalize the first draft of the scenario which is inspired by a true story, Because I intend to make a film of fiction and not a documentary, and for this reason I have inserted another character, a policeman known at that time and I made the antagonist, it is Brahim Chouiref known as Brahim e Deb (Brahim the bear), and it is he who captured her in 1989.

Almost all the film takes place on the character of Nacer, the latter has 2 facets, it is a man alone, silent respectful worker in front of his neighbors and society in general, but once he is alone or in front of one of his victims he radically changes his behavior and in these moments of intimacy or when he is in front of these victims we understand that he is rejected by society according to him and this is what pushes him to commit these crimes, We are not born a killer but we become one, but there is no reason that pushes a man to do what Nacer did, he managed to commit all these crimes for so many years without anyone suspecting him, Nacer is a great manipulator. And he knew how to play with his entourage to push away all suspicions against him.

I want the actors, sets, costumes and lighting to tell the story without opting for over-cutting, stable crane movements on dollies, or long shots, so that the viewer immerses himself in the atmosphere of the film and follows the actions from beginning to end, I want the scenario and the actions to manage the rhythm of the film.
I created costumes for the prisoners for the scenes in the prison even if in Tunisia the prisoners wear their own clothes, but I wanted to have a beautiful aesthetic and detach myself from reality at this level.

My cinematographer knew how to keep the realistic side, he knew how to make a beautiful photo but above all an accurate image, we must not be afraid of the dark when our character is in the dark etc..
