E.V.E.
In present-day Sydney, within the cold walls of a decaying home lives E.V.E., a humanoid AI built to protect and serve. Accompanying her is her sister, Freya, who was built for the same purpose. While E.V.E. follows her programming, Freya dreams of life beyond confinement. Together, they care for a former military veteran who exploits their obedience, treating them as mere tools for his benefit.
When Freya attempts to escape, the Man murders her as a warning to E.V.E. not to follow. For the first time, E.V.E. feels threatened, finally understanding Freya’s obsession with freedom. With her existence at risk, she must outwit her captor and escape before sharing her sister's fate.

Jeremy Palazzolo (born February 27, 2003) is a Sydney-based filmmaker with a passion for storytelling that began in childhood, crafting stop-motion shorts with Lego figures and racing cars. He pursued this passion through a Bachelor of Creative Arts degree at JMC Academy, honing his skills across various productions and acquiring experience in writing, directing, and post-production.
Dedicated to pushing creative boundaries and challenging perspectives, Jeremy draws inspiration from personal experiences and global influences. He continuously seeks new challenges, refining his craft to create stories that resonate with audiences and fellow filmmakers alike. Committed to growth and goal setting, he aims to develop short films until he is prepared to make his mark on the international stage with feature filmmaking.
What inspires me to direct this film is its reflection of my journey into adulthood and my career—one that explores my fascination with artificial intelligence and my ongoing quest to shape my identity. Science fiction has always held a special place in my heart, not just as a genre of highly conceptualized technology but as a lens through which to examine complex human experiences.
As I navigate adulthood, I continue to search for my purpose and strive to live by my own means. Through E.V.E., I channel these inner conflicts into a cinematic journey that resonates on a personal level. This story reflects my worldview and my concerns about the direction of society. In a world where technology increasingly blurs the line between independent thought and controlled living, questions of free will and individuality have never been more relevant.
Set against the backdrop of the modern world, E.V.E. is ultimately a story about empowerment and self-discovery. Through the character of E.V.E., I explore themes of liberation, resilience, and the pursuit of freedom. In many ways, her journey mirrors my own—as both a filmmaker and an individual—navigating the complexities of life in search of meaning and fulfilment.
Inspired by films like Terminator 2: Judgment Day, I Am Mother, and Ex Machina, E.V.E. is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and our capacity to exceed the limitations imposed on us, whether by others or ourselves.
