Between Borders
Between Borders presents three stories set in a dystopian future, after the collapse of the global economic system. The plot takes place in a context where two imaginary countries are separated by natural elements, symbolizing physical and geopolitical borders.
Many are trying to find a way to survive or escape an inevitable and tragic fate, with the promised land just kilometers away, yet the journey and hardships turning any idea of escape into a suicidal endeavor.

José Fuca is a professional actor and anthropologist working with First Nations peoples in northern Quebec and western Canada. His collaboration as an actor, co-director, and co-writer enriches this project through the diversity of his experiences and his commitment to cultural communities.
The second director is Juan Jose Cea Escobar, a renowned Hispanic-Canadian director known for his films exploring social and political realities through powerful and sometimes fantastical narratives.
In addition to his cinematographic work, he is also a teacher at the Institut Grasset in Montreal, where he shares his passion and expertise with emerging artists in the region. His dual role as director and teacher allows him to play a key role in developing and promoting local talent.
