Dyan Dumpangol is a filmmaker from Sabah, Malaysia and is currently completing a Bachelor of Film and Screen Media Production at Griffith Film School in Brisbane, Australia. Most recently her short film, Jammed was nominated in the Borneo category in Malaysia's longest running short film festival, Mini Film Festival and her other short film, I See You got shortlisted out of 780 entries to 90 selections for the 4th Health for All Film Festival by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
After entering the screen industry back in Malaysia 4 years ago, Dyan has produced, directed, asst. directed, filmed and edited multiple projects across Sabah, Malaysia and Queensland, Australia. She has worked on multiple commercial ads, live events/TV studio, documentaries and short films which has made her into a versatile filmmaker.
Dyan is a proud Indigenous, Kadazan woman who strives for fairer representation. This passion seeps into her work in crafting grounded scripted dramas that spotlight female-led narratives and diverse stories from marginalised voices.
