Luke is a multi-award-winning director and editor who recently was long-listed for a British Independent Film Award (BIFA). His films include the Royal Television Society-winning western "Fear the Unknown Men," micro sci-fi "Postponed," and the BIFA long-listed drama "What We Wished We Could Be." Commercially, Luke has built an impressive list of frequent clients, including Disney, Vice, McDonalds, HEAD, and Porsche.
With his experience in narrative and commercial filmmaking, Luke has honed a distinct ability to tell deeply personal, human stories. His narratives are not just authentic but also deeply relatable, often getting to the heart of what it means to be human, warts and all. This unique storytelling ability allows his audience to feel deeply connected and understood.
Luke's most recent film, "What We Wished We Could Be," made a significant impact on the international film festival circuit. It premiered at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, a qualifying event for both the Oscars and BAFTAs, and later at the esteemed HollyShorts Film Festival. The film's journey culminated with a return to the UK for the Aesthetica Short Film Festival, where it was recognised by the BIFA and featured as one of the 12 best short films of the year.
This is a short film I’ve been sitting with for nearly 10 years, nagging at me to finish it and release it into the world. When it was developed, the current political climate felt more like a Black Mirror episode than reality but now the world is standing on the cliff edge of irrevocable change.
I wanted to explore the human condition in what feels like an impossible situation, putting the audience in the heart of the drama of a complicated moral decision.
