Our mission is to explore innovative strategies that promote inclusivity in classrooms, communities, workplaces, and other settings and to lift up human-centered stories of inclusivity through juried programming of top-tier films from around the world.
We aim to increase awareness about the human-centered successes achieved when creating inclusive environments in education, communities, and workplaces. We acknowledge that issues related to social justice exist, specifically in a lack of accessible and equitable opportunities for people with disabilities. These films serve as a springboard for discussion, advocacy, and change, particularly in relation to inclusive education. We are particularly interested in films that showcase unique stories of inclusive initiatives, practices, efforts, and advocacy.

The Dis/Ability Film Festival will have several screenings in the late summer/fall months and potentially beyond to showcase our 5th Annual Dis/Ability Film Festival.
Following our in-person film festival launch, we will potentially host a virtual film festival with details to be determined.
We are interested in offering travel to the beautiful Gunnison Valley as a reward for select filmmakers to visit Western Colorado University to participate in our film festival activities. Wish us luck!
