目前就讀臺灣藝術大學電影系,拍攝過劇情片和紀錄片,擅長導演組、攝影組和燈光組,2020年以劇情片《穿越時空遇見你》入圍台中市金導獎最佳影片獎,並獲得最佳精神總錦標的殊榮。2021紀錄短片《一起種植趣》獲育秀基金會補助拍攝,並獲得育秀盃動態影像競賽15萬首獎。2022改編自身經歷拍攝劇情短片《擲筊萬歲》擔任導演。致力於紀錄片創作,持續關注臺灣各項議題,不斷摸索實驗片、紀錄片、劇情片的混合類型等。
Director and cinematographer: Hsiao Shih-Sheng
Currently studying at the Department of Film, Taiwan University of Arts, Hsiao has directed both narrative and documentary films, specializing in directing, cinematography, and lighting. In 2020, his narrative film "Meeting You Through Time" was nominated for the Taichung Golden Film Award for Best Picture, and won the Best Spiritual Award. In 2021, his documentary short "Let's Plant Together" received funding from the Yu-Shou Foundation and won the first prize in the Yu-Shou Cup Dynamic Image Competition with a prize of 150,000. In 2022, he directed the narrative short film "Pua' h-pue ban-sué", which was adapted from his own experience. Hsiao is committed to documentary filmmaking and continues to focus on various issues in Taiwan, exploring mixed genres of experimental, documentary, and narrative films.
《擲筊萬歲》改編自個人經歷,這部片是關於我父親帶我去廟裡擲筊選擇大學科系的故事,這個經驗也讓我去思考我的未來到底是誰要決定。
"Pua' h-pue ban-sué" is adapted from my personal experience. The film tells the story of how my father took me to the temple to divine and choose a college major. This experience made me reflect on who should really be making decisions about my future.
