Director Statement

This animation short is the accumulation of several interviews held online between resettled refugees in third countries and me. The refugees were initially displaced from their native homeland of Bhutan, but also experienced exclusion in their supposed land of origins; Nepal. Although the investigation is posthumous, the format of an open letter to the king of Bhutan became an appeal for preventing the occurrence of events in the late 80s and early 90s, such as the governmental measures to homogenise dress codes and languages taught in schools.
