Director Statement

Think about people who live in Tokyo. Think about the stories living there. That they are connected each other in the stories passing each other. In this severe competitive society. In this lovely city fill with irritation, desire, and a danger, to accept each other.
In the end of this film, a person exchanges glances with the other for the first time. That would be expression of their intention to connect hearts. The word “Bye” means also the future. The moment of accepting the other in his/her own story. Then, the camera which has followed them may settle both of them on one image plane for the first time.

I believe that a camera can create a film through following anyone. When I had a premonition that the object person will commune with someone to relate in future, I thought that the camera would settle also another person at the same time.
This is the film which shows the story “until” a man and a woman meet in Tokyo. So I would like you to make sure of the moment in the end.
