Jimmy McGary (1926-1993) was a force of nature on the tenor saxophone. Often called "daddy jazz" by those around him he was regarded as the center of jazz saxophone in the region for decades. Christopher Braig is a Burbank, California-based saxophonist, flutist, composer, and filmmaker.
His second film Radio Free Newport was nominated for film-scoring awards at Festivals in Paris, London, Canne, SIFF, Munich, and Rome.
His last record, Rise of the Jazz Ark, was recorded in Chicago and engineered by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio direct to tape.
Christopher is an artist of wide experience who regards music as an opportunity to create "sonic sculptures" blending improvisation with composition.
