The CULT JURY FILM FEST offers screenwriters and filmmakers from all around the world a platform. Filmmakers have the opportunity to advance their work at this event. We honor the very best in independent filmmaking and seek to provide creators with opportunity, joy, and relationships.

We adore making movies. We wanted to make something that would celebrate, appreciate, grow, and give opportunity to the great world of independent films and the filmmakers making them because the art of short films is sometimes disregarded in the film making industry. This festival is always being improved in order to make it the greatest and most worthwhile film event that is humanly possible.

The organization's goals are to inspire independent filmmakers with connections to Iowa to keep honing their craft, to give them a venue to specifically screen their work, to present a special cultural event to the neighborhood, and to provide networking opportunities so that filmmakers with connections to Iowa can connect with one another globally.

Every year, the coveted ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ด๐’๐’—๐’Š๐’† ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’†๐’”๐’•๐’“๐’ ๐‘จ๐’„๐’„๐’๐’๐’‚๐’…๐’† winners will be revealed. All of the monthly winners from a given year will be eligible to be nominees in this selection process and will compete against one another to be named the ultimate winner. The Festival website will post the list of these yearly winners.

โ˜… A selected list of films from the nominated ones will be screened at the cinema in front of a live audience. All films of the Official Selection will receive our laurels. Winners of the festival will be announced during the award ceremony and online on our website and social media following the festival.

โ˜… Awards & Prizes

All projects that are officially selected in each month receive the CJFA laurel and certificate and are rated on their IMDb pages (if applicable). All monthly Award Winners receive the CJFA laurel and customized certificate. They can also subscribe to the prestigious Cult Jury Film Fest trophies.

Most representatives of monthly award winners are screened in Kolkata and reviewed by a CULT JURIES. These reviews are shared on each film's IMDb page (if applicable). Besides AWARD WINNER, there are also OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS, CRITIC'S CHOICE AWARD & CULT JURY'S CHOICE in the different categories.

Each year we select the Best of the Best (from the pool of all award winners from all categories) and the CULT JURYโ€™s prestigious ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ด๐’๐’—๐’Š๐’† ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’†๐’”๐’•๐’“๐’ ๐‘จ๐’„๐’„๐’๐’๐’‚๐’…๐’†โ„ข is awarded to them .

Rules & Terms

โญ All movies must be submitted with English subtitles or in the language (if in a different language)..

โญ CULT JURY FILM FEST will hold the sole authority to refuse entries.

โญ Any film that is submitted for a particular month may be submitted again for a second chance because we have different Judging panels for each season.

โญ Short movies are limited to 30 minutes in length.

โญ Entry fees are never refundable, and this needs to be understood seriously. The submission fee is not refundable even if a filmmaker decides to remove their submission.

โญ We need a synopsis, a link to your movie, an official trailer or poster. Select the correct category carefully to prevent disqualification. Reclassifying films into the appropriate category is solely at the festival's discretion.

โญ Even though we accept films in all languages, there is one rule that must be strictly adhered to: films in languages other than English must have English subtitles, or else they will be rejected right away.

โญ A director or producer is allowed to submit more than one movie in a category and more than one movie at once.

โญ Filmmakers are in charge of organizing the copyright for their own works.

โญBy sending your film to us, you grant us permission to exhibit it in front of a live audience and, in certain situations, an online audience.

โญ Nominations: Included in this list are all the movies that have been up for a certain award in that category. Not all of the nominated movies will be shown.

โญ Official Selection: All of the nominated movies that have been chosen for showing will be contacted via email. If you received an email for nominations but not an email for official selection.

โญ You acknowledge that the CULT JURY FILM FEST may be subject to copyright, trademark, credit, and publicity claims and agree to defend and hold the CULT JURY FILM FEST harmless from and against any and all liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorneys' fees and court costs) that may be related to such claims.

โญ These Rules & Terms may be changed from time to time without prior notice under the exclusive authority of CULT JURY FILM FEST. Any such modifications would take effect right away. Keep an eye on the rules and conditions from your end.
