Insights from Isolation

Based on the writings of Australian author Julia Baird, the film is a meditation on the parallels between pandemic isolation and the experience of an early Mars coloniser:

Many months into a solo mission, Tithonia has had time to reflect, in the solitude and quietness of Mars, on life back on Earth. Small daily moments such as mealtime and observations provide simple joys and evoke memories and thoughts about life back on Earth.

The vast Martian landscape inspires curiosity, awe and a new perspective on her, and humanity's, trajectory.

Scenes of hope appear at the end in the form of incipient green and blue on the red planet.
