Director Biography - Michael Twomey

Michael Twomey, MA Film Analysis and Theory, set up Complete Control Films with Kieran McCarthy in 2010.

Their debut documentary film ‘Town out of Time’ (30’) is an exploration of the economic collapse of an Irish town. The film became the subject of a two-page Irish Times investigation on the topic.

In 2012, ‘Another Way Home’ (58’), an exposition of an alternative route to mental health care, narrated by Academy Award Winner, Jeremy Irons was screened at the Cork Film Festival, the 2012 and 2015 UCC Mental Health Conference, the 2013 Fingal Film Festival and the 2014 Dingle Film Festival.

In 2016 Complete Control Films documentary, ‘The Printer’ (15’), a portrait of a Victorian print house and shop, was the centre piece of a broader two-month exhibition in the Triskel Arts Centre, Cork. The Printer was screened at the National Print Museum, Dublin in May 2016.

Michael has just completed directing Wish You Were Here: The Redbarn Story (68’).
