Fangs
Have you ever looked forward to something so bad that it consumes your every thought? Well, that's how it is for Willis, the youngest member of the Hulan family, as he looks forward to a day in the park with his family, however; not so much with his oldest sister, Sarah. Like most teenagers, Sarah is impatient with her brother and gives him a hard time when she is helping him get ready for the day. Being the youngest member of the family, Willis gets away with a lot of things and this infuriates Sarah.
The day finally arrives! Willis has loaded up his knapsack with as many of his favorite things as he can squeeze into the space. There is one item that is a "must" have and that is his new cap gun. As they are on their way out of the front door, Willis believes he sees a wolf out of the corner of his eye. His dad check things out and thinks that it is a figment of Willis' overactive imagination and dismisses the claim.
Upon their arrival at the park, Willis is jumping out of his skin with excitement. He proceeds to do all of the things that a young boy likes to do: tree-climbing, running and tossing rocks in the water.
Finding a picnic area, the Hulans sit down to have their lunch. Willis is fascinated by a nearby waterfall, and wants to check it out immediately. Dad appeases Willis by offering to take his photograph near the waterfall. While taking the picture, Mr. Hulan loses his footing and ends up at the bottom of an embankment. To make matters worse, a wolf's howl can be heard in the distance, and fear sets in for the Hulan family. Sarah and Willis have a catastrophe on their hands, it's getting dark, their dad is injured and cannot help, and the fear of a wolf attack becomes real.
Willis' quick thinking saves the day when he remembers that loud noises scare animals and uses his cap gun to frighten the wolf.
As ambulance sirens are blaring in the distance, Sarah helps her dad walk out of the park. Willis has now become a hero in the eyes of his whole family.

Jay Lee (23 y/o) from St. Georges, Newfoundland. After putting many hours into the College of the North Atlantic Digital Filmmaking Program, I started working as a portrait photographer in the area. Having made many short skits on YouTube, filmmaking has taken my interest. After graduation, I wish to become a full time camera operator for movie sets, and do freelance portrait photography as an aside.
The motivation behind my short student film "Fangs" is to prove that as a beginning filmmaker I can work with people of all ages as my actor's were 11, 20 and 50 years old.
