The film explores and celebrates black LGBT identities. Growing up in Thatcher’s Britain and the first generation to grow up after the partial decriminalization of homosexuality, the cast vividly recall daring to be different.
Claire Lawrie received her BA in Photography from The London College of Communication 2011 and MA Fine Art from Central Saint Martins 2021. Her first short film BEYOND ‘There’s always a black issue Dear’ has won the Queer Vision and Iris prize Best British short 2018.
