The 1st annual Los Angeles Cinematography Film Festival is an international festival focused around the art and craft of cinematography.

LACFF is produced in collaboration with the International Collective of Femaleāŗ Cinematographers and is devoted to celebrating diversity of vision, lensing and approach in the film and media landscape.

Our jury is comprised of cinematographers, directors and producers working in Los Angeles and abroad. Jury awards are all cinematography focused.

Our goal is to curate a program of stunning, progressive work by established and emerging cinematographers and directors which we will showcase for invited filmmakers, reps, and industry professionals as well as screenings and festival passes available to the general public.

An award honoring outstanding achievement in cinematography on a student production of any length.

THE GOLDEN POPPY: MADE IN CALIFORNIA
An award honoring outstanding achievement in cinematography on a California-based production of any genre and runtime. The production must have been filmed completely in the state of California.

The LA Cinematography Film Festival programs and honors films where art and craft of cinematography has a significant effect on the film and the story being told. The alchemical relationship between a cinematographer and director can be seen in every frame of the piece, and visual language is created and refined to serve the needs of the story. The immeasurable contribution of the cinematographer to these outstanding motion pictures will be evaluated and awarded by an international jury of cinematographers, directors and producers.

SELECTION MATERIALS
Completion date of the project must be within two years of the festival event date.

All submissions are processed via FilmFreeway. The jury will look at any materials you include in your profile including the film, trailers, stills, filmmaker bios and filmography, headshots and outside links.

SCREENERS
If your film is selected you will be asked to provide a 2K exhibition copy (.mov) or a DCP. Please let us know if you have an existing film print available and we will do our best to accommodate.

The film must have English subtitles (if a film is not originally in the English language).
