Canada's LONGEST RUNNING, LARGEST and MOST MAJESTIC COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL - The Canadian International Comedy Film Festival -- CICFF!
This past year was a weird and delayed one but we still had great comedy filmmakers from Canada and around the world submitting despite Covid-19. Our online awards has happened already and now the actual audience screening for our 2021 films is (hopefully) taking place this October.
PLEASE NOTE: Season 10 submission deadlines were adjusted due to the push back of our 2021 screenings... and then the subsequent push of 2022 way back to Oct 8.
ALSO PLEASE NOTE: WE DON'T DO WAIVERS. EVER. THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE CONSTANT HARASSMENT AND SPAM WE RECEIVE FROM FILMMAKERS. WE DON'T WATCH YOUR LINK YOU SEND NOR DO WE READ YOUR EMAILS IF YOU ARE REQUESTING.
So on we go into 2022 because once this is ALL over we'll really need to laugh...
Dedicated to the art of comedy on film, we aren't one of those pretentious films festivals that pre-selects the lineup, snubs low-budget, dismisses non-conventional or charges outrageous submission rates. Oh, and we actually watch YOUR submissions.
WE WATCH your film BUT films that display racist, homophobic, misogynistic, gratuitous nudity or abusive situations... we stop watching. Comedy can definitely tackle big issues and be edgy but when filmmakers send in ugly crap thinking it's funny, we toss it in the reject pile. That's it.
Our motto at CICFF is "Where the world comes to laugh!" because after the filmmaker yells "cut" and the Grand Marshall of the Festival yells "roll the films" we are all about celebrating the art of comedy.
So cheers, submit and show up ready to laugh for the Number X instalment of CICFF in February of 2022! (Tentatively in February... between 7th and 8th wave of Covid.)
