Chattanooga State Community College is honored to be launching Chattanooga, Tennessee's first student film festival of this kind. If you are a high school or college student local to the Chattanooga area, we encourage you to submit your film here.

The Chattanooga State Film Festival will run from March 29-March 31, 2018, and is free and open to anyone interested in attending. Events include: hands-on workshops taught by community and industry leaders, Friday night's featured speaker (TBA), numerous film screenings (including an International Film Series screening of Spirited Away, catered with food from Fuji restaurant). Most importantly, Saturday night will give local high school and college students the opportunity to have their works judged by professionals, screened before the community, and possibly receive awards in the categories below.

Awards will be given in the following categories:
Feature Film
· All narrative genres
· 30 – 120 minutes in length
Short Film
· All narrative genres
· Less than 30 minutes in length
Feature Documentary
· Nonfiction or docudrama
· 30-120 minutes in length
Short Documentary
· Nonfiction or docudrama
· Less than 30 minutes in length

Special Awards:
· Young Filmmaker Award: Directed by filmmakers under 18 years of age.
· Chattanooga State Honor Award: Recognition of an outstanding work created by a current Chattanooga State Student.

All films must be submitted via the FilmFreeway website by March 1st, 2018.
To qualify for submission this year, your film must have been finished between March 1st, 2016 and March 1st, 2018.
Submissions will only be accepted from any current local high school and college students. (We define "local" as any colleges and high schools within a fifty mile radius of Chattanooga State's Main Campus.)
