Chanel Glover (Florida A&M University BS | Tulane University School of Law JD | Ohio University MFA | Hunter College MEd) is a former lawyer and special education teacher, whose writing centers black queer characters as they comically explore the unburdening of generational trauma. Chanel was a featured playwright in terraNOVA Collective’s Groundbreakers Playwrights Group in 2015. She’s screenwriter for the SEX IS A GOD THING (2014) viral microfilm, and for the 2019 short, which premiered at the Black Harvest Film Festival (2019), Pan African Film Festival (2020), ClexaCon (Virtual) Film Festival (2020), NewFest (2020), among others. Chanel is also the co-creator/co-writer for SASHA & CONDI, which premiered at UrbanWorld Film Fest (2020), LA Shorts International Film Festival (2020), among others. Chanel was a playwright fellow at Lambda Literary’s Writers Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices of 2019. Her TV spec scripts have advanced to the semifinals of the Warner Bros. Television Writers’ Workshop in 2019, 2020 and 2021. When not writing, she is happily engrossed in parenting her one year old son.
