Daniel Cossio is a Colombian filmmaker based in Canada, specializing in horror and psychological thrillers. A graduate of Confederation College’s Film Production program, he focuses on atmospheric storytelling and immersive experiences. His latest short film, The Weight of Air, explores memory and perception through a haunting lens. Daniel is actively building his career in the Canadian film industry, aiming to bring his vision to international audiences.
The Weight of Air is a psychological exploration of memory, perception, and isolation. I wanted to create a film that blurs the line between reality and delusion, immersing the audience in a space where emotions are tangible but unstable. My approach was to build suspense through atmosphere rather than exposition, using visuals and sound to communicate inner turmoil. This film reflects my fascination with the fragility of the human mind and the unsettling tension of the unknown.
