BREATHE

At times claustrophobic, at times liberating; amidst this contradictory atmosphere of Taipei City, Ping lives with her boyfriend, but she would kill to get the keys of her secret crush’s apartment. Little does she know, those would also be the key to breaking down the façade she has always maintained, and it feels like she could finally breathe for the first time in her life.

Director Biography - Kevin You

Kevin You is a Taiwanese artist. He has a BFA in filmmaking from Taipei National University of the Arts. He creates essays, stories and poems in Chinese, English and Photography. In 2015 he served as a residence artist for local experimental publisher QP Queer Artists Collective.

Director Statement

My crew paid close attention to every shot, the lighting, framing, movement, the music, sound, silence, the locations, emotional tone, the heartbreak, guilt, frustration, and most importantly, the secret affection. We aim to offer a glimpse of the life of that quiet girl in Taipei to anyone in the world who is also longing for true love and a future that is no longer black and white.

《左手右手》

失去一段情誼，是最殘忍，也是最有效面對自己的機會。總是患得患失，被各種選擇逼得喘不過氣，學習以最誠實最勇敢的方式行動，對這個故事的主角，以及對我自身來說，都是最艱難卻也最重要的課題。

劇情大綱：主平背著男友，用盡方法獲得心愛女孩住處的鑰匙，卻發現女孩也懷著秘密。畢業典禮這一天，三人再度一同俯瞰台北城，卻無法如往日一般談笑；不知所措的她離開了女孩與男孩，彷彿失去一切，卻也彷彿第一次真正能夠呼吸。

導演簡介：游承彥。1994年生於臺灣臺北，畢業於國立臺北藝術大學電影系，現從事影像、中英語創作，曾為實驗平台《成蹊藝術》及獨立小誌《短命刊》合作夥伴。
